Blake- Grand Stand is handling the bracket portion, but can't facilitate the body panel side, so as for now, looking like have to go straight thru Flexi. IMO would be ideal if people in diff areas, i.e Chicago, East Coast, LA would get together on a few sets and split shipping costs, that would be the cheapest route. Or if people just want to get them shipped directly to them they can as well. IIRC he said shipping would be in like the 60-120 range or so depending on location. How many 100% FOR SURE people do we have so far? |

Mr Critical- Thanks for hookin up those pics, that bike looks great! I love the raised tail section, can't believe I never thought of that after all the years w/my XB9R. THAT is the way this bike is supposed to look. |

Quik - I would like a set at $300 plus shipping. It appears that what is suggested as a group buy is not necessarily the same thing that Erik Buell Racing is selling, which is ram-air including inners - right? This IS Flexi-glass, but the type has been superseded - again, right? JM |

I am in. I would recommend paying Flexi directly. Once they have 4 + confirmed orders, process the payment and ship directly. In other forums they have left a group buy open for a period of time, so anyone who orders by April 15 or whatever date still get the price, this is after they have met the original 4 orders. You need to check with Flexi and see how they want to handle it. Trying to get all the money from individuals is a pain. I would not feel comfortable with paying a third party and then having them order. Deal breaker for me. Will the brackets be a separate order from Grand Stand? I'm in on that too. |

That's exactly what I'm trying to setup. I'm saying for shipping tho, if there are people in the same city, or nearby at least, they could have several shipped to one location and meetup partway, cut shipping in half minimally(bulky+border duties/taxes). Brackets will work like that too, but theyre in NJ and smaller so not much shipping costs so we can all just go individual through them. |

I'm in no hurry. I think the key for us will be to plug the sponsors, work with the forum administrators and then setup something that works for us with an appropriate time line. |

Blake So how does this "sponsor supporting group buy" thing work? If no sponsor steps up within a certain amount of time after the post, does that meet the opportunity test? Or do each of the sponsors have to be contacted with a formal request? IOW: Who is expected to take the initiative on this? The request has been floated on BW.. Please clarify how this is to work and what is a reasonable time frame to make a determination. I'll likely go forward regardless, but if I can save a hundred bucks, great.. thanks |

Okay, no step up from any other sponsors so would like to go forward myself. Here's the deal, Flexi can make each kit individual. However, its really only feasible for Grandstand to make multiple bracket kits at a time as parts are only avail in bulk. I need to get a number to them to get these bracket kits goin and find out an exact price. My thought- bracket kits are gonna be cheap, like $65 or so id guess. Let's try to get those ordered and made this week, that should be do-able for everyone right? |

OK, How do we order the Flexi kit? Do we call and put our name on list with Flexi and make our payment? Second, Same deal on brackets? I can order both now, so put me down on both deals. Who is second and third and fourth etc on this deal? |

Okay my fairings are ordered, just waiting to see if anyone else in Chicago area wants to get in on a set so I can knock shipping cost down. Contact Trev at Flexi-Glass at trevb@flexi-glass.com to take care of the panels, $300(awesome wholesale cost). He's only gonna do this till the end of the month tho, too busy after that. Still waiting for a call back about the brackets |

I should be able to get the funds together for this. Is anyone else in the Atlanta, Georgia area planning on getting the fairing kit? Combine shipping and save a little cash... (Message edited by Fran_Dog on March 23, 2011) |

Rat - this is what I got from our 'guy'.... Hi, the kit for 300 is a wholesale price as retail is 425. These replace your stock outter pod and have to be trimmed to accept your black plastic trim piece at the front of the pod, our piece is what the buell factory sent us to start the team with so it has some of the trim piece incorporated in so you didn't have to run the stock plastic trim. The ram air package of our second kit that was a development with HD and there wind tunnel testing program is 980.00 that includes 2 outters and 2 inners and a belly, and we narrowed the bike by 1.5 inches on either side. Trev On Wed, Mar 23, 2011 at 6:39 AM, Masters, Jeff wrote: Trev - I am interested in the 1125 sides (left/right) - no ram air and the competition lower. My application is for a 2008 Buell 1125R, no fans, no kickstand. I understand that the group buy is for $300 for the set of three. If this is correct, please reply and I will provide billing and shipping information. As a side question - what is the 'out the door' cost if I wanted to use the ram air package (inners and outers) instead of non-ram air? Thank you. |
