Was about to pull the trigger on this set since it's the best looking/bang for buck I've found, but got the idea to try a group buy. Retail is $400, we can get 'em for $300 for 4+ sets. 3 piece set, 2 sides(replaces factory rad scoop covers) and belly pan. Trev from Flexi said its been installed w/o brackets by some racers, but preferably build your own brackets. Theres also a company that makes brackets for s very similar kit for $65. Bike looks SOOO much better w/this, who's down??

Is there two different styles of flexi glass lowers... Cause I though they only made the race fairings which eliminate the fans.... Am I wrong?? |

Thanks Froggy. The time frame is soon please!! haha jk, no but for real I realllly want these, so I'm ready. They did make a different race set, and there is currently a new prototype race-specific design should be done by end of month. BUT, the other designs remove rad. fans, and I wanna daily ride mine too not just track queen. PLUS, those kits are alsmost double the price. He wasn't pushing these, only has one set but I talked to him and WILL produce more(can make like 1-2 a day) and supply wholesale cost for a group buy, like 4+. |

The Erik Buell Racing fairing kit removes/covers the headlights doesn't it? I believe the Flexi-glass is just pods and belly pan...not positive though. |

I think the Erik Buell Racing kit *is* Flexi-Glass, it's just the ram-air setup that includes the rad mounts. I use my OEM plastic front fairing with the Flexi-Glass ram air fairing kit and belly pan. I use block off plates I bought from Buell race before the shutdown. |

I am interested in going in on this also... if we can get some questions answered. Do these replace the OEM pod covers? (I don't want to cover the OEM ones up like I have with the OEM lowers.) What is the process for installation? (For those who know me... I am very OCD about alignment and drilling. It would take me about 6-8 hours to check, recheck, double check, triple check, have a beer and then get a second opinion before I drill a hole.) I like the idea of the mounting kit... so long as it comes with some basic instructions. Last question... is there a kickstand cut out? |

> Last question... is there a kickstand cut out? Not on my kit, because such a thing would also render the belly pan useless for holding fluids. It's easy to cut one if you have a dremel or zip-tool though. |

I've searched and searched and searched, and then after, searched some more. Again, IMO, this is by far the best looking/bang for the buck/least modding needed set I've come across. The next runner up was ZAS racing, and that set would come in around the $800-$900 range after Euro conversion and shipping from Spain. |

The ZAS Racing stuff... IMO is the best product for guys like me who want to "plug and play" the fairings. They offer the mounting kit and pre drilled holes, all you have to do is paint the fairings and pop them on. The problem is.. price and shipping. |

"It's easy to cut one if you have a dremel or zip-tool though." This is what I was afraid of... I understand that the kickstand would reduce the BP's ability to hold fluids but I don't think I need that ability for all track days in my bracket. It's be nice if I could ziptie the kick stand and then fabricate a small piece of plastic to cover that area and pass tech inspection - in the event I ever did need that capability. |

Okay, just got off the phone w/Pete from Grand Stand got some more info. Luckily, it does not have the kickstand hole precut(easy to cut out) The bracket kit they put together was actually designed for this kit, and uses 1/4 turn fasteners spec'd for the proper thickness of this kit, not just generic dzus fasteneres which may be too loose/too tight. The kit also comes w/laser cut brackets and instructions. He's willing to do a group buy as well for the kits. |

"It's be nice if I could ziptie the kick stand and then fabricate a small piece of plastic to cover that area and pass tech inspection - in the event I ever did need that capability." Do just that, get the kit, do a clean cut to make an opening for the kickstand, then retain and remount the piece you cut out w/some fasteners etc. |

Qwik - How are you planning to work this deal? IAW who will be covering the order (and the money)?. It looks like you're brand-new to the the board.... I'd still like to get more info on exactly what we would be getting for $300, like more photos. My application is no fans, no kickstand. Thanks |

I think I'm interested, need details on the payment portion. Will the belly pan work with my Barker exhaust or will that need to be modded too? |

Honestly not sure yet, I've never organized a group buy before. And I am new here so I'm sure some guys may not trust sending me money. The guys are too busy over at Grand Stand to middle man the body parts. If I didn't have so much money already wrapped up I'd just buy them myself and distribute from Chicago to cut down shipping costs. |

Oh yeah, sorry, the exhaust. The belly pan is like their 3rd version, made to fit basically all the exhaust options for the 1125 |

I have that same set on my R. Installed them last summer. Here is the link to the old thread on it: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/589309.html?1282498520 |

That is a sharp looking motorbike. It appears as if there are a great number of fasteners connecting the belly pan to the lowers. How difficult was this to install and did you make your own mounting kit... or buy the GSD one? |

It wasn't too bad to install. Some minor trimming was required but all in all they are an excellent fit. I made my own mounting hardware. I probably didn't need that many fasteners, but I liked the look of it. |

Did you use any heat barrier tape on the right lower and the belly pan? Not sure if they come with any but I just did a fantastic repair of my Buell lowers with a replacement heat shield (tape) from Moose Racing. 18x18'' sheet, single sided adhesive. Sorry for all the questions but, as Borat would say. "I am EXCITE!" |

I got some thin adhesive heat shield from summit racing. It was very inexpensive, so I actually ended up covering the entire inside of both lowers and the belly pan. I also have header wrap all the way down to my slip on saron muffler. I haven't had an issue with heat at all. |
