Does anyone know if there is a Service Bulletin for the Stator nut ? My bike is in for service , they were going to check it , will they have the same torque spec as Erik Buell Racing's recommendation of 300ft lbs ? or just the stock 150ft lbs ?

Is this something that affects 2008 bikes ? Never given it a thought, but should I check it ?

Place your ear down by the stator cover while running, you should be able to identify the chattering if it is loose.

300 ft. lbs. should be the correct torque spec., at least that is the latest I have heard.

The dealer is telling me they can only torque it to factory spec of #150 I think we'll have to have a talk about that tomorrow when I go down there .

It is pretty loud anyway. I would have to assume you would need to know what one sounds like that is probably tight, before you could guess yours is loose?

The stator has three small (1.0" long or so) screws....NO nut...!

Has two more smaller screws for a little metal harness support attachment.

Thurstonbuell,
You might want the dealer to call HD tech support, they will give them the proper specs, that is what the dealer that serviced mine the first time did.
