For those of you with the GSD kit... is it worth the 70 bucks? Does the kit provide you with all the brackets and fasteners needed to complete the install? Thanks! |

Bob - will need to let paint dry at least until tomorrow before I mount back up. Just masking off first color now so I can shoot second today. Another trick: Instead of using GSD hardware for 'top of pod' mounts, I used the factory hardware. With a little modification, this seems to work fine (and one less wrench needed to remove lowers) - sorry if a bit out of focus, but I think the general idea will come across. Sharp utility knife is all that's needed. Trim the upper plastic to provide a flat top surface and relieve the lip of the inner pod so holes line up.
Slip factory clips on:
I need to double-check that silver clip doesn't extend past new uppers - I can either file it down or just paint it black - race bike, not show bike. Add rubber washer if you need to get a snug fit with new outers. Easy peasy |

GeForce - Not really, IMO - especially since they sent the wrong length 1/4"-20 screws. As you can tell from my post, I only used the cam-locks (and only 6 of the 7 provided). The rest of the hardware I had laying around my shop. But- with that said, to each his own. $70 seemed spendy to me, but I bought one thinking I was going to get more. Just my opinion, others will differ. Edit: The cam-locks worked fine during dry-fit (without cone washers). After painting, they were too tight and I ended up stripping out a couple of the screw slots trying to get that last bit of turn to lock them down. Looks like I'll end up using Dzus unless I can find some cam locks just a hair longer. Curious, though, did anyone use the cone washers and still get a good fit? Pete sent me an email and said some people got 7/8 inch bolts in error. If your kit has the wrong bolts send him and email so he can fix it up for you. Awesome step up by Pete at GSD. |

As completed - ended up using Dzus for belly mount.
9/16" lath screws to mount pod inlets and factory hardware for (4) pod mounting points. |

Looks very nice. Question: I saw on another board that a lot of track guys use zip ties instead of Dzus fasteners. Any thoughts? |

> ZIP TIES...NOOOOO I haven't had good luck with them, they either get rubbed through by the glass or the edges stress fracture the bodywork. What I have had good luck with, and use extensively, are nylon fasteners for bodywork. They don't vibrate out, in a crash the flex, bend, twist and even give, saving your bodywork, and they just generally work well. As for quarter-turns, I use the milspec stuff (http://www.milspecproducts.com/26002700C-Spec.htm) since it's possible to get the fit-up just right. But, I don't love them in that they are way stronger than bodywork, and do tear it up pretty bad in a crash vs. nylon stuff... |

Man i've run into a snag, There's just no way the belly pan will fit around the OEM exhaust. It looks a good 4 inches too short. Anyone able to find a way or did you just cut the rear lip off? |

No snag, just trim to fit as needed for the situation you have. I'd like to get an after market pipe, but I am not sure which one yet, so I'm waiting to fit it to the hopefully soon to be purchased pipe. |

Well its a really nice belly pan and i feel like im butchering it by cutting of the rear wall. Guess will chop it and order another for winter project and aftermarket exhaust |

got my conversion done... mostly. everything is painted, assembled and now back on the road after a little tiff i got into with my 1125 the very day my box of new fairings came in the mail; i hit the deck stupidly while the new stuff was still boxed up; PERFECT TIMING for a facelift! anyways, here is the final product with some brand new pirelli meat for the street rims to abuse this summer... i ordered a race upper front fairing also painted to match for trackdays and a couple AFM races later this summer. that fairing along with a spare rear seat cowl will be getting some vinyl die cut yellow number plates with my assigned afm number later this month! |

See some people added an extra brace on the left fairing rear. Ive noticed mine flaps around in the wind a bit and is in need of a brace. Can someone post a pic of their brace and mounting point. |

Was someone making a template for the kickstand cut out or is it relatively easy to do? What tool is used to cut the fiberglass? |

I have been really impressed with the Flexiglass stuff, and Trev has been Great. I managed to go through two sets this season... Low-sided V2.1 (H-D livery) and had to replace all my plastics.
Went with full Flexi replacement for V2.2. Fit is great, prep is minimal....and all I need to mount is 6 Dzus and factory hardware.

To at least 145, I don't even think about it - no vibration, no flutter. But then again, that's not the thing I'm focused on - staying upright and out of contact with anything not moving or otherwise. |

Hi guys brand new on this forum, Dean of deanadamsdesigns.com sent me here cause I was searching for a complete flexiglass fairing for my 2010 buell 1125CR. I saw all of your pics and those are amazing, I just want to get something like that done on my cr!!! So, I was wondering does anybody know of someone did it on the cr and about your kit, how much did it cost to get it from flexiglass? Thank you already for helping! |

Resurrecting an old thread here. but I'm thinking about picking up one of these kits. Just out of curiosity, any idea what painting a bike might run? Also, I've noticed that there is a ram and non ram air. with the ram air kit does that mean the fans must come off the bike? Any issues with overheating when you're not actually on a track? |
