Forgive me if this has already been covered, but does any company make a rear hard-case rack for the 1125r/cr? Just so we're on common ground, I know that the 1125 is a sportbike and should never have any bags on it; but I having the option without hacking up the passenger seat for its pan would be nice. |

You can get a Ventura rack for a nice large soft bag. I tried fitting the Hepco and Becker topcase from my Ulysses to the rack, it is a very close fit, some slight modification to the case and I think it will fit. Brinnutz was working on something like this for his M2, I need to follow up with him on that. |

I have the Ventura system on mine and it's fantastic, I can carry a tent, sleeping bags, camping gear and clothes for two on there w/o impacting the pillion provision at all. Use the high rack and a sealline bags and you're set for life |

I was kind of looking for a system that I could attach hardbags to, but I guess it doesn't exist currently (unless you fabricate it yourself). That's all that I needed to know, thank you very much guys. |

nano- i wish, that'd be awesome. Anyone that does that sort of thing have to fab it themselves |

I believe Zac4Mac has a hard case set up for his "Loretta" ... you may want to PM him or search the forum for pix of his set up ( looks great!) here's a site that offers european/sport touring style hard bags...just leave the CCard in your wallet! http://www.twistedthrottle.com/ |

Yeah, I was tired of only riding the Uly so I could carry stuff. I had a spare passenger seat so I bolted a case I had to it. It's big and the guys at the shop give me a hard time, but it works for commuting. It's a transport case from an old JVC Video camera, all on the cheap. Cost me nothing, since I'm a pack-rat.

Good there Steve, I swear by my Scorpion Exo jacket and pants. In fact gotta dig the pants out for a ride to the north in a few minutes. It's a chilly 25 dF right now. I'll be taking the Uly tho, with it's normal looking luggage and Hippo-Hands. Z |

Shoot Al a note at American Sport Bike. Hepco Becker probably already has mounts... but according to Charlotte, they can get to be pricey - but they are hell-for-stout! |

Oh one more thing, my container came loaded with 143 chinese workers who are looking to take someone's job. maybe we should open a hard luggage factory and put em to work? PS: can someone help me hose the Container out? They've been in there for a couple months and it's getting a tad funky. PPS: I had to set rear spring preload to maximum, just as an FYI. Thanks. s |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/361473.html?1210962106 I run it on my CR as well, but less lately as the S3T has taken that role. Let me know what it's worth to you... |

While not as cavernous as a shipping container, I successfully mounted up some VFR hardbags to my 1125R. The set-up worked really well too.

Hey Tyr, I saw that while searching on google (I think on VFRworld? Not sure now) and liked it. It is kind of what I was looking at, but also with a tailbag. If I remember from that thread, you designed the whole system yourself and had a friend weld it up for you? |

here's a (not so good) pic of the trunk i put on my 1125. the mount is braced on the passenger pegs. 4 nuts to remove, the unlock and remove seat, replace with passenger seat. i think the trunk is a 37 liter. mount also has a couple of grab handles for her.

Thanks Hotrats, that is what I was looking for. If it is not too much to ask, do you have any schematic of that rack? Or better yet, how about some more pictures? |

Yep. That's correct. I had the idea but not the fab skills. So a friend did most of the work. I let some pictures do the talking. The trickiest part was attaching the bracket at the undertail. We had to machine some spacers and use longer bolts to hold both the bag support and the license plate bracket/fender on the the undertail. I only got to use the bags on one trip and they worked great. With a little extra preload, the bike handled like they weren't even back there. Once I painted the brackets flat black, they blended in pretty well with the rest of the frame. |

This is how we do it in Oz. Universal Givi Rack, cut for length. Alum handmade rear peg hanger. Made from 40x40x6mm alum right angle. Shaped and fitted. Rear Givi bracket made of 25x25mm alum bar. Cut, drilled, tapped, shaped and oil hand polished. Bracket ends are tapped with 8mm thread and the Givi L brackets attached with high tensile bolts. The tapped holes are drilled and the end for the bar is cut to match the tapered angle of the Buell's tail. Mounted to sub-frame tail eliminator holes via 6mm Unbrako bolts. Very high shear strength. Lots of measuring, checking before cutting. 12 hours effort. Why all the effort. Need to carry a laptop for work and can't go past hard luggage.

That Ozzie mount looks great - it's VERY high, so I'd be leary of loadin' it up. But as a pro-looking kit? It's quite Sano. |

There are some great custom jobs on here, if you're looking for a really easy job though, no fabrication work required then the Ventura system is still ideal. But the L-Brackets and a "sports rack", bolt a universal top box mount to it and away you go. No specialist skills needed.
That's a photoshop job as i don't have a topbox. |
