So once again Adamec's Harley here in Jax provides excellent and even above and beyond service.

i took the 08 R in for my headlight reflectors the tach needle slipping and the front end 'clunk'

I was late to my appointment and even worse i dropped the bike off with 18 miles showing on the LFL... bad rider i know. all my fault.

I asked them to give me a ring when they were finished diagnosing because it is my primary transpo.

so even though i was late they fit me in and i got called late in the afternoon yesterday to tell me i could grab it anytime the cluster and headlight shells were on order.

i go today to retrieve it. and discuss the front end clunk as well as the other two issues. they explain that the tech line indicated the clunk was inherent to the bike but i should keep a close eye on it and report any changes in the riding characteristics as they believed the tech line but wanted to be sure the bike was/is right.

back to the fuel....i go to the shell station across the street and pay to fill it and was only able to get 3 gallons in the bike even though i know it holds 4.7gal i realize they prolly needed to run it for a bit to help figure out the tach thing it wasn't ridden as the mileage was the same but how about that? 1.5 gallons of free gas on top of them being supportive and helpful.

i always have had great help from these guys and just wanted to say it again if you are anywhere near Jacksonville, Fl and need help the Baymeadows Rd location right off of I-95 is the pace to go(only Buell tech in all three locations)

Ouch. I have waited for a looooong time a few times but if i want it back they always give it back while we wait for parts. the clutch has been done i think 3 maybe 4 times now. the last wait for 7-8 weeks from the time of diagnosis but i rode it the entire time and when they did come in i made an appointment the sat before Christmas and they got the work done while i waited. maybe an hour and a half?

glad they could squeeze you in, and gave you 5 dollars worth of gas. was this all under warranty, or out of pocket?

in my experiences: 'inherent to teh bike' means 'we don't know or care, so GO AWAY'

mine had the cluck too. i torqued and re-torqured teh steering stem nut. still there. so i brought it in.
turns out the right fork asslembly internals were to blame. they said the same thing has happened on other models. weird.

grab your mechanics' stethoscope, and see if you can pin-point it.

i think the inherent in this case is that the guys just dont know forks although i was told a CR was in last week same complaint and the tech had the whole front end ripped apart looking for the flaw.

warranty

My local dealer definately just doesn't care about Buells... i will say a call to HD cust. Service did seem to get things moving.

I cant believe my first NEW bike i've ever owned has been down for 6 months out of it's two year warranty... in the first year! And they had the nerve to recommend that i pay for an extended warranty... with service like this.

Despite all this... i do still love both of my Buells and the Bueller community!

Some people will have worse dealers than others.

Got an e-mail the other day from a guy in the Czech Republic asking my thoughts on the 1125.
Wow, what to say.

I love Loretta, but I work at a very Buell friendly dealer.
There might not be a dealer in his COUNTRY.

Meh - after the warranty is gone, you should work on your own bike anyway.
Not like it's your mechanic's ass on the line at some stupid speed we won't tell anyone about...

yep zac you got it i agree 100% on that one. and honestly the only reason i'm going to the dealer now is cuz they are doing it for free. if i was paying i'd just be buying parts....
