I can sympathize with your view of OHR, but I reckon you'd feel differently if it was only 20 minutes from home and no other was track nearer than 3 hours.

OHR has it's issues, rustic and crude, but man what a workout. It's old school Texas racing. I still cringe thinking about the GT race in mid-Summer, 100+oF. That was one of the most grueling physical challenges I've endured short of an adventure race. There just is no place to rest on that track. Being able to have the run of the place for just $75/day was sure nice for all us local CMRAers. It wasn't by choice that we stopped racing there; family/ownership dictated that. It's a darn shame. The karters are sure missing it.

With all the nice new tracks in Texas, how is it we don't have an AMA Pro event? Gotta go all the way to Barber for that. We need a Texas version of Miller to giterdone.

Bonus was unexpectedly meeting the likes of Teams Haner and Sanchez and other pro-racers using the track for testing nag training. Trying to keep up with Michael as he wheelied around the track was too funny. Wish I had it on video. That man was fixin' to go places in professional motorcycle racing. What a darn shame his freak nerve injury after a crash at Barber. He would have been a great ambassador for the sport, a real class act.

I just don't have the time to spend traveling to and fro.

How do you rate TWS? The transition leading into the road course is intimidating looking. I recall watching Mike Cicotto pretty much ignore it at around 100 MPH, mercilessly bashing the muffler on his Hal's Racing XBRR into submission.

PK,

Corner workers especially appreciate knowing the shift pattern. The CMRA requires display of shift pattern be easily viewable on tank or dash. It helps when folks crash, clutch lever breaks, and the corner workers need to quickly find neutral in order to push the bike out of harm's way.

> With all the nice new tracks in Texas, how is it we don't have an AMA Pro event?

Because they are bumpy and measured on a national scale.

Compare our best tracks in Texas to Barber and we have shitholes at best.

Eagle's Canyon probably offers the most promise -- it's incredibly difficult, deeply challenging, and separates men from the boys in about half a lap. But you are comparing a $5M facility to a $65M (Barber) facility. Eagle's canyon will take time to settle -- it's a new track -- and then finally be repaved to meet national standards.

> How do you rate TWS?

Another bumpy shit hole.

The reason Mike didn't care is because it's a 150MPH corner, even at novice club racing levels. 100 off the ramp into turn 1 is absolutely SLOW.

Jdugger, that is a sweet setup. Your gona love the track, when riding on the road i always say to myself in my helmet, "I sure wish i was at the track"

I am thinking of converting over totally to a track bike too and notice your front fairing, is it stock with the OEM headlight fillers? I have those and was wondering how to properly attach them in??
And what about your foot pegs, are they adjustable too, cant quite tell from the picture...?
Thanks and happy Track days!!

LOL... ya' think?

> is it stock with the OEM headlight fillers?

Yes.

> I have those and was wondering how to properly attach them in??

Screws.

> And what about your foot pegs, are they adjustable too,

No, at least, not really. They are OEM rear sets that have had the peg flanges milled off, and then a hole drilled in the center of where the peg flanges used to be.

They are adjustable during machining, in that there's some range of where you would put the hole. But, not once in service.

The Chain Drive kit includes rear sets that are more or less the same as having milled an OEM part as described above.
