Well, my bike has the clutch weep. Just wondering if i can take it to the dealership for them to see it and have the parts ordered but me keep the bike until they get in. My bike is my ONLY means of transportation and i can not go any length of time without it. Also, once they do get the parts in and start working on it, how many hours does it take to do the fix? My bike is still under warranty since i bought the 5 year extended and just bought it last October. |

If it is not leaking that bad just ride it until the parts come in, keep a close eye on it, and top off the fluid as needed. It should not take them long at all to repair it once the parts arrive, you never know though, some dealers are different than others. I do not work at a dealership... If it is not leaking bad you can spin the puck on clutch cover 180 degrees, this will put the weep hole at the top instead of the bottom, which means it will take longer for fluid to start squirting out onto you while you are riding. |

Clutch weep only is a fairly quick fix. This sort of thing really depends on your relationship with your dealer and Service Writer. They should not need you to leave it but they do have to see the problem and diagnose the repair strategy usually. As long as it's a slow weep you should be fine, mine dribbled for a year and a half before I got mine fixed. In that time I refilled Loretta's reservoir twice. This is a good time of year to do this tho. Your dealer most likely has several lifts idle so they should be able to get you in-out quickly when the parts do arrive. If you aren't already familiar with your Service Dept, visit them a time or two to talk about your situation and get a rapport going. As always, present your case so they WANT to help you. Zack |

Yep, back in Cali and the bike is running like a champ. Just waiting for a quote from Michael at Erik Buell Racing for a right side k-bracket since the top part is snapped. And other than that and the weep, it's good. Was only able to get one fork off since I stripped one of the bolts holding the brake on. The one I took off and replaced was straight, and if there was a bend in it I couldn't see it. |

wow! you must have ate your wheaties that morning to strip on of those huge damn allen bolts lol. but you know you will need to get that out of there in order to get the caliper off so you can change tires and such at some point. shouldnt be to hard, i just usually pick a drill bit just a hair larger then the threaded section of the bolt and drill the center of the bolt head out until the head pops off the shank. then with that other (of the 2) bolt removed i would think you should just be able to turn the fork lower away and off of whats left of the bolt shank and pull the caliper off. then a good vise grip and some lube you should be able to work the bolt out of the caliper by clamping on it with the vise grip and working it back and forth until it comes out. atleast thats what ive done with a hand full of the bodywork bolts on mine over the years. all this assuming you cant just find the right size torx bit to pound in there and remove the bolt with a wrench(done that plenty of times with allen bolts also. |

I was thinking about getting a tap and just twist it in there until it bottoms out and keep cranking on it until it comes loose |

my personal opinion would be to try the torx first if you have them(with a buell im sure you have some lol) its cheaper then buying a tap unless you have that too. also i am always leary of taps. they break far to often. and when they break they are completely in the way of every other option until you figure out how to remove the damn chuck they leave behind. yes they make me bitter lol |

Juniorkirk, Break a tap off and you'll be doing some research about a little thing called electric discharge machining. Bring the checkbook. EZ's right about left handed drill bits. Just remember to spin the drill backwards. Don't ask... |

Alright, went to Bigg's this morning for a get aquanted ride and stopped at the service department so they could look at it quick and let them find out what they needed. They were just gonna replace the oring so I hopped on my phone quick and looked on here for the part number for the kit and found it. They actually had one of the kits in stock and are tossing it on her right now. I love the guys here at Bigg's. I wasn't expecting them to get the parts or be able to work on it for weeks, but I'm sitting here waiting for my baby to get finished up so she doesn't leak anymore, only pisses gas. |

Alright, clutch weep kit was installed and it's looking good so far. I'm just waiting for word back from Erik Buell Racing about that k-bracket and then the bike will be at %100. |
