My wife purchased me an Erik Buell Racing ecm and 2010 tail light for my 09cr. Yes yes, I am a very lucky man. I can't wait to install these parts, but.....I don't have a wiring diagram for the tail light. Anybody know the correct wiring????? Thanks in advance. |

I got a Jardean finder eliminator and I just removed all the conections from the lights put the part on and reconnected the turn signals. I dident bother the wiring with the tail light. I just made sure the brake lights still worked which they did. Some people will remove some of the plastic from under the tail light so it acts as a licence plate light to. I dident I just left it as is because it's bright enough and I haven't had any problems with it yet. |

If I remember correctly, there are only 2 wires to connect your LED light. Take the tail off and unplug the factory light. When I bought my LED light American Sportbike was nice enough to include the necessary connectors. You should be able to go to a local hardware store and find the proper connectors. Just cut the connector on the LED light and splice the new connectors on and you're all set. I took some pics when I did my swap and I was going to write up a how to but it was so straight forward and there were enough other people that were already doing it I didn't think it was necessary. If you still need help I can dig up my pics but it isn't very difficult at all. |

There are THREE wires. Before doing any wiring, I would at least purchase a $19.95 multimeter at the auto parts store. Black is ground. Red with yellow stripe is brake. Orange with white stripe is run (tail). And I think the colors on the '10 light match the colors on the chassis side, so wire black to black; red to red; and orange to orange. When you unplug your taillight, you'll see it's a molded connector on the chassis side with three female spade connectors built in. The light has male spades. I lopped the plastic deutsch connector off my '10 light (leaving as much wire as I could attached to the light), and crimped male spades on each wire, and just plugged them into the chassis connector individually. I then ziptied the connector to the subframe so it didn't rattle around. Been working like a champ for over a year on my '09 CR, and was non-invasive to the chassis side of the harness |

I cut the connectors off and soldered the wires. Electrical tape to insulate and reduce wire flex around the connection. I wanted to make sure no wires could ever come apart... And a car possibly flying into the ass end while braking. |
