Has anybody else used this bag? My friend gave this to me for Christmas because he no longer uses it. It's the Buell large taibag. Here it is fitted to my 1125R. In this pic, the bag has a yellow reflective belt and has been expanded.

Here it is at the Buell website:

Link to the Buell website accessory page: http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=1&CategoryID=4&Produ ctID=4251

The reason I posted this was because I was so impressed with this tailbag. I've tried all kinds and many brands. Although the Buell tailbag is the most expensive, it is so well thought out that it's worth it! This bag has every accessory already built in, from stow away rain cover (attached to bag for ready use), to a hidden shoulder strap, to interior organizers, to a variety of straps to attach the bag any which way you want on your bike or any bike. Of all the bags I've tried to fit on my Buells, this is the best.

In the picture above it is mounted directly on top of the passenger seat cover, but I don't actually recommend that as it scratched up the plastic.

I'm thinking to buy one as well as a tank bag... There's a special offer by an HD dealer here in Italy but he wants 100 Euros (130 USD)! Do you guys know of a good place to buy Buell bags in the USA?

I have that tail bag (as well as the original tail bag, small triangular).
LOVE IT
I've not taken a weekend trip with it yet, but knowing what I could stuff in my Buell tank bag and the triangular buell tailbag, I know it'll hold a lot more and that rules.

I keep that tail bag on my bike quite often now, even for just around town as its not in the way and can hold a good deal of things in it.

love it
now to test it out on a weekend trip.....next one aint til March, so long to wait....

Yeah I have that bag as well, i got from a florida Harley dealer for $60, they had 60 in stock, so they had to discount them to get them sold.
I also have a bmw k1200r, and it fits on the k1200r really well.
I never saw the hidden shoulder strap.

The Mrs. had one for a couple years on her xb, but couldn't find one (didn't look too hard really). Bought a used one from a badwebber and they are great. Hold a lot of stuff, expand to hold more stuff and don't look like earmuffs like the saddlbags did.

I have a FirstGear bag that has all those features, and is a bit larger. Matching side and tank bags are available as well.

The shoulder strap is hidden in a compartment directly underneath the bag (the non-slip side). It is secured by a cut out at one end and is cracked open by velcro.

I have the Large US version. Took it on a 3K trip last year. You can put all kind of stuff in it when expanded. Try SouthsideHarley / Buell in Indy- They have lots of Buell stuff.

EUR100.00 is the correct price. The bag costs around $125 in the USA. Most aftermarket tail bags that are of high quality costs about the same so I think that price is fair.

I don't know of any place in the USA that sells this bag as a mail order/internet order. It seems it's exclusively a dealer item.

The straps just gives you more options.

The main thing is you strap it at four points. One pair to the passenger footpegs, the other pair towards something in the back. You can strap the rear to the pillion cover but I wouldn't put this bag on top of plastic because it will eventually scratch the cover.

BTW, I managed to find a tank bag as well. Try here:
http://www.LawnMowerPros.com
It's priced a bit more than it used to be, but still acceptable. Search using the HD part no. code.

I have one but until I can find away to do my errands in town without having to get a jump start it stays off. Too much of a hassle to remove it and put back on to get to the battery. I do like it though. Mine doesn't have that giant reflective strip.

The reflective strip was a good safety add-on. But, yeah I removed it. LOL!

You shouldn't have to jump start your bike unless the battery is dead. If something is draining the battery you probably need the '09 Instrument cluster.

Well, I managed to find also a deluxe tank bag in "as new" conditions for 120 Euros. There's one e-bay on sale for 225 bucks...
