Well Steve, the Iranians(Hitites?) did just that 3 or 4 thousand years ago. There's better technology nowadays. Z |

My bike is fixed (???) and will pick it up on Sat. They also changed out the clutch cover. It's suppose to be nice here in Colo this weekend so just may take it for a ride. |

Well, my bike is home all fixed. The guys at HCHD in Frederick are great to work with. We are very lucky to have a great bunch of guys that still love the Buells. Took it out for a ride when we got home. Hooked up my heated gear and the battery voltage stayed where it's suppose to be. It was in the mid 50's today and it's suppose to get down to 15 degrees by Tues. Ah to live in Colorado |

Well, it got me too. Had the stator replaced in round two (no charging) a few days after getting the harness/relay fix installed in round one (System Voltage message and overcharging). The tech said the old stator which lasted about 9100 miles looked damaged. I've put about 100 miles on the new stator and everything appears to be working as it should. Hurray! However, on a short ride today, I got the dreaded "System Voltage", Battery icon and fans continually running about a mile after leaving a lunch stop causing me to cut short a more scenic ride home. Fortunately, recycling power cleared the symptoms. So, I don't know if I'm back to the original problem of overcharging (bad voltage regulator?) or not. |
