Hey, just got back from Afghanistan and I been putting the bike back together and found that the cables from the right hand controls where ripped apart. Anyone that know what color goes to what, please call my cell asap to help 515-212-9497. Any help would be great, I just want my bike to start |

here is the pin layout for RH controls, I wish i could help more, but my bike is in the shop, so I can't look at the wires.

Do, I saw that diagram in my manual but it never said were the 4 of them terminated. Thanks to Brice and his generosity and time, he took his front fairing off his bike over the phone with me and told me what color went to what. I'll be posting a bunch of the pics I've taken so far tomorrow when I get access to the Internet on my computer. And hopefully tomorrow I have her up and running ready to terrorize SoCal |

ALRIGHT, I'M PISSED! Went and got the battery and some other goodies while at American Sport Bike and got back to the storage place to start putting the battery in to see if i can get her started. FIRST PROBLEM: I switched the cables that i found stripped under the headlight assembly to the order that Brice gave me. They were the cables from the right hand controls. They went: RH Control Cable harness Grey------------->Red-black White-red-------->Grey Black-red-------->Black-red White-black------>White-black After making sure i had those hooked up right, tried turning the bike over.....NOTHING. with the kill switch in the off position, nothing. With it on, i can hear to relay click but wont start. I'm thinking the relay might be back, need someone to verify this might be a possibility. SECOND PROBLEM: i was looking at the right side pod and noticed that it had a lot of play in it. Come to find out, the K-BRACKET, RIGHT SIDE L0059.1AM is broken completely. Looked up the price, and damnit, $184.10 for a new one, plus the infinite time wait to get it. THIRD PROBLEM: When i put my Erik Buell Racing ECM in i got a ton of codes popping up when i go into diagnostic mode. Here is the LIST: P0122: TPS SYS ERROR P0628: FUELPMP SYS ERROR P0193: FUEL PR SYS ERR P0511: IAC SYS ERROR P----: ACT INT SYS ERR P0113: IAT SYS ERROR P0691: RT FAN SYS ERR Those are all of them. I put the original ECM back in to see if any of these would pop up and the only one i get when i put it back in is U0001: COMM ERROR. I have no idea what is going on with all this. If anyone has any insight on this, please let me know. This bike is really starting to piss me off and want the damn thing to just start to know i took care of the BIG PROBLEM, but it looks like nothing is in my favor these days. If things keep going this way and i cant get it running in the next week, i'm probably just gonna start parting it out and using that money to go buy myself a car since i'm gonna be getting out of the Corps. in about a year and moving back to Iowa and i'll need a car there. |

FIRST PROBLEM: Check the obvious, make sure it's in neutral or the clutch pulled in. If the wiring is suspect, put it in neutral anyway. Start/ignition relays are under the seat. SECOND PROBLEM: Ebay. If not there, Erik Buell Racing, actually, I'd just try Erik Buell Racing first. THIRD PROBLEM: This is normal for a race ecm, don't sweat it. Put it back in, they will all clear out. |

D-adams, I made sure the bike was in neutral, even rolled it back and forth to make sure, and the light was on. I then tried pulling in the clutch, still nothing. I even put the kickstand up, JUST IN CASE, and still nothing. So, could this be a relay? I'll send an e-mail to Erik Buell Racing and see if they have any of the k-brackets available. I'm glad those are normal codes. I did the TPS reset on it cause when i first put it on, it was a 0.0 and then started going up at about half throttle and stopped at 55.0. Now it's saying 2.0 at the beginning and smoothly goes up to 100.0. What would cause the U0001: COMM ERROR with the original ECM? |

seems like the come error is the code to the cluster. When you turn the key on do you get enter pin? you get a click when you turn the kill switch on? or when you push the start button? once agian be sure the bike is in nuetral. Remove the fuse box cover. How hard is it to get to those wires? Have you check all the fuses? If that harness shorted it likely blew one or more. I would check fuses. Then try the relay squeeze. starts with relay but not start button.(try swaping the grey to grey Find relay marked starter.(think it is listed in the cover) remove it. Take small screw driver pry off cover. All a relay is is a eltric magnet you will see a coil at one side of it there will be a set of contacs. Put the relay back in with out the cover. turn key on squeze relay(so the contacts touch) The bike should crank and start. I am guessing either the wiring isn't making good contac ot your starter button isn't (Message edited by R/T Performance on December 17, 2010) |

Are you installing the ecm with the battery connected? If you unplug the ecm cables with the battery connected, it can throw the comm error. That error means that the ecm and ic can't communicate, aka a cable is unplugged with power to the bike. |

Dk, looks like it's my bust on the comm error, I didn't disconnect the battery when I did the swap. I'll make sur to do that in the morning when I head back to the storage unit. Rt, I don't have to enter my pin when I turn it on, and the clicking is from the relay, not the starter. I've checked all the fuses and no more were blown, just the lights one initially but I replaced that one. For swapping grey to grey, do I just leave the other 2 wires disconnected while I do that, and does that just bypass the relay. I'll give it a shot also as well as the relay squeeze. That's for all the input guys, I'm hoping that one of these things will work for me. I would head over there right now, but gate access is from 7am to 7pm. Only 4 more hours and I'll probably head over there and start trying to get her started again.} |

Oh, since someone started the " be an awesome bueller' thread and doing a give away on those ebr mugs, when I'm done getting my bike back together and running, every part that came off my bike is up for grabs to anyone. As of right now, there is a black r front fairing that has some scuffs on the nose, a stock exhaust, and a right mirror. Since all of you guys have always been a great help, these will be completely free, I'll pay shipping. No_rice, need a used front fairing with light scuffing, lol. Brice, u can have first dibs on anything since u took time out of your night to give me a call late at night, take your front fairing off, and dig around to find what wire went to what. Thank you for your help that night. |

U0001: COMM ERROR is normal . My e-b-r ECM had the same codes . They all cleared after some miles. Do you hear the fuel pump cycling? |

if the relay is ticking...try turning the handlebars when hitting the ignition. same thing happened to be and there was a short in the underbody of the switch itself...give it a shot and good luck. alot of us 1125 owners have been at the PISSED stage with our bikes...its worth it for some, others not so much. Thank you for your service! Jake |

Well, I say it. The bike is on it's way to the dealership right now. It is stripped 100% of all the plastics. The headlight assembly is off and the entire air box is off. They came and picked it up and I told them the only thing I want them to do is get the bike started, that's it. The guy said alright and took her away. I can take care of everything after it can start, so that's all I want them to do. Brice, as soon as the bike gets back to me running I'll ship off the pipe to you. For everyone else, free up for grabs still is a front fairing with some scuffing on the nose, a right mirror/turn signal that is all good and a stock ECM when I get it back. I'll try and post up some pictures of the parts later |

damnit, wish i would have seen this earlier. i have a broken front fairing that i could have replaced with a scuffed one. i could atleast sand that one smooth and paint it lol. havent come up with a good way to fix the break between the headlights and windscreen. about all its good for is maybe a trackday/race fairing since it still does bolt on and hold its shape, just has a big split in it. |

So, got a call from Biggs and they think it's the starter switch itself. They are replacing it under warranty, and that would also cover the haul fee to the dealership, so I have no problem with them saying that. I don't know if it would be the starter switch itself since I was able to 'hot-wire' it to try and turnover. But, I'll let them think it as long as the warranty keeps cover the parts |
