Has anyone tried the Erik Buell Racing upper triple clamp and any variation of the clip on handlebars? I'm just curious if they change the position of the handlebars much or at all. How do you like them if anyone has them?

I've got them, and highly recommend them.

I have two bikes each with the Erik Buell Racing triple, but with different clip-ons.

On my race bike, I have the Erik Buell Racing clip-ons. On the 'B' bike, I have a set of Vortex.

What I like about the Erik Buell Racing clip-ons is compatibility with the OEM clutch and brake MCs. In addition, the clip-ons are explicitly designed to mate with the Erik Buell Racing top triple, and they work together as a pair.

Most after market clip-ons have a separate clamp for the handlebar tube, and this may interfere with the OEM brake and clutch. Specifically, the integrated rigid reservoir causes all kinds of grief. Certainly the Vortex ones do. So, you end up needing new MCs or to fabricate weird parts to get the OEM bits to work.

What I *dislike* about the Erik Buell Racing clip-ons is the handlebar tube and fork clamp are integrated, single bits. So, after a drop you find yourself having to remove the top triple and replace the WHOLE UNIT with an expensive $75-ish part instead of a cheap, readily available, everyone-at-the-track-has-one universal handlebar tube.

The riding position with the Erik Buell Racing set-up is vastly superior to the OEM setup. It encourages your head to tuck and come forward, and there's additional leverage available at the bars. Not quite as much as with the vortex setup since those also allow the rider to adjust length, but it's clearly better than the OEM set up.

Highly, highly recommended.

Jdugger, do you have any pics of the E.B.R. kit installed?
