No need to apologize. Had you not posted this, I may not have ever run across it and I find it quite interesting. |

This is intriguing but I wonder how long that exhaust would last before repacking is necessary and what it would take to do the repacking. Very interesting drawing. Thanks for the re-post because I would not have known about it either. |

I am thinking there would be no repacking, just as with the OEM muffler on the 1125 models we know and love today. |

A little misdirection for the competition? That design would have to give you a nuclear hot seat! |

i don't think it would ad much if any heat to the saddle. i am curious as to how they plan on keeping bearings and brakes cool though. maybe a jet-hot coating on the inside? and how often will the flex pipe need to be replaced??? |

my only thought, doesn't that conflict with the trilogy of tech? wouldn't you be increasing unsprung mass by doing that? |

"wouldn't you be increasing unsprung mass by doing that" I thought the same thing about oil in the swingarm... |

Not really. Most of the weight will be sprung, and if done right can easily be offset by reducing weight due to less mounting equipment and other muffler related hardware. The article goes into detail about it. |

Personally, I thought that it was a little bit too "out there", even for Erik ! Luckily, it will come to nothing - http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/buell-swingar m-exhaust-patent/ |
