I'm not trying to start anything, it just see,s there are a ton for sale on this board's classified section. Yes there are alot of XB's also. I'm seriously thinking of selling my 09 Kawasaki Versys (Its listed in the classifieds as well) and buying a 09 1125CR, I just bought an 07 STT and am so happy with it, I'm excited to possibly owning the 1125 as well. Are the Stator failure and heat issues for real? I have noticed no heat on my STT, but its been in the 50's and 60's here when I have ridden it. I also own a 2008 Harley Fatbob and a 2007 Triumph Speedmaster, so I have enough cruisers,

I am thinking of selling my '09CR because I have 5 bikes now...FJR for touring, KTM adventure for touring off-road, Super X for cruiser, Indian for resto, and the CR.

I like the power, I like the riding position, but right now I have too many bikes. It's time for one to go and the CR is too narrow focus for me.

There are a lot of used bikes for sale right now, any make/model. The charging issues are real, but if you are mechanically inclined, just remove you stator and send it off to be rewound for under $200.

If you are really worried about, just find one still under warranty and buy an extended warranty before the factory warranty runs out. I looked into it, i think its $1400 for 5 extra years, or 7 years from the start of the factory warranty.
I haven't had the stator failure on mine, but there are options to fix it.
1. Get an 08 stator-it uses less power, doesn't seem to have the "problems" that the 09 stator's have.
2. Like bueller4ever said, you can get the stator rewound for $150-200.

IMO the 1125 is a great bike, i believe the engine is rock solid, with insane power. It handles like a 600, with power closer to a 1000.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but where do you send the stator?

"It handles like a 600, with power closer to a 1000."

This to me is the best way to describe the 1125. Having owned every flavor of liter sportbike, and going from my R1 to my 1125 in the same day takes a couple of settling minutes. The 1125 handles so light and solid at the sametime, I've not felt anything like it before. Down just a tad on power, but with a couple mods, we're talking 20-35hp which when you're over 140hp to start, isn't really something to complain about.

As to why so many are selling, I agree that there are a lot of bikes out there now, and the resale maket pricing is crazy low. I have too many friggin bikes now, otherwise I'd get one of the CR's listed here, there are a couple awesome ones by badwebbers listed that make me drool, but I can't cut one lose in my garage ... yet.

Hmmm...I just sold my Challenger. Hated it since shortly after buying it. It looks nice but it is just a big motor in a Chrysler 300. In other words, it is a boat.

Not much of a car guy as a bike guy, but I would think that for the money of a new Challenger you could buy a prtty decent old school one these days. And pick up a boring cheap car for daily use. And be A LOT cooler.

Most of the ones for sale were bought during the fire sale last fall. Many people saw the cheap price and jumped on it wither they liked the bike or not. Due to how cheap they got them, it would be no problem to break even when selling the bike, so there pretty much wasn't any risk.

The 1125 is a fantastic motorcycle, and it isn't for everyone (no bike is). I converted from XB to 1125, and will never go back, but I know others that have gone the other way. Different strokes for different folks : )

I'm with Froggy. I wasn't looking for a bike, but knew I could never score a deal like what they were giving out. I really enjoy riding mine, but it's not really "me". I briefly consider selling it on a regular basis, knowing that if I regretted it there'd be plenty around at about the same price later.
