I have my 1125r in for it's 12,400 service at the stealership and wanted to know if the cost is in line with what others have had done (if you went to a stealership). They quoted me 650 for the service. |

I haven't had it done yet (almost there!), but $700 was an estimate from my dealer. Majority of that cost is the labor to rotate the engine down and back up. |

Yeah, its a big one, they have to rotate the engine for the spark plugs |

you have to rotate engine for valve check, not spark plugs http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/593186.html?1284853306 |

Mine was over $700 when I had it done on 9/30/2008. Rotating engine is not strictly required to change the sparkplugs, but I doubt the stealership would do anything but what the service manual indicates. |

I think it depends on the tech. Some techs with lots of 1125 experience do not rotate the engine for spark plug service. |

Mine is at the dealer now. After taking off some items on the service list. I got quoted $350. Thats not including any parts for valve check. I did supply them the plugs. |

I'm coming up on it sooooon. Less than 1k away. The 2 things that are critical to me are checking the specs on the valve clearance, and replacing the plugs. I'd love to do it hands on if I had the time, but alas.... R |

I've done mine twice. I'm sure I did a picture/write-up a couple of years ago, couldn't find it tho... It takes me close to a week to get in and out. 12.4k was a check of the valves and RR plugs. 25k I RR'd 6 of 8 shims and the plugs. The coils on this bike eat plugs like none I've ever seen. Not worried about the valves now, lost about .001" in 25k miles. I shimmed for center, so shouldn't need to re-shim for 75-100k. |
