I guess the Uly frame pucks that "fit" the 1125R have been out of stock for awhile. Anyone know of any future production plans for this part or any aftermarket replacement? |

So this is all part of Harley's commitment to providing parts and service for Buells until 2016, right? |

Has anyone asked Al Lighton about this? Surely they're made by some outside supplier who'd likely be willing to continue making them for anyone with the $$$, such as American Sport Bike. |

The part in question is on American Sport Bike: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17125.html but as you can see, it's out of stock. Sure wish I could have gotten them while they were available |

Harley sales this 7 year warranty because they expect every bike to be totaled out...1 good way is quit selling frame puck's and sliders. People are helping Harley's cause and building their profit. Every bike totaled out before the warranty's up, is free money in their pocket, and the one's that aren't totaled have been accounted for! Win-Win for Harley just a thought. This stupid stuff that has nothing to do with Dick H. Wandell, but it makes him look like a marketing genius. |

Right, because Wandell was the one that destroyed the tooling.... |

My search says the part is active and quite a few dealers have it. Enter a part number and choose Home State to view a listing of other dealers with that part in stock in just your home state or choose All States to view other dealers with that part in stock in any state. Part Number: Home State All States Description: COVER, FRAME. COSMETIC, RH Inventory As Of: 10/24/2010 Harley-Davidson has this part available at the Franklin Distribution Center. |

>>>>Harley-Davidson has this part available at the Franklin Distribution Center. Uhhhhh ... that's a problem.
quote:Jan. 23, 2009 Harley-Davidson Inc. is eliminating 1,100 jobs, more than half of them in the Milwaukee area, and analysts said more cuts could be necessary if the economy continues to tank. The Milwaukee-based maker of heavyweight motorcycles will close its Capitol Drive plant in Wauwatosa in 2010, resulting in the loss of several hundred manufacturing jobs. The company also is closing its Franklin distribution center, eliminating 150 jobs this year. Harley is cutting about 230 non-production positions, most of them salaried, including jobs at the Juneau Ave. headquarters. It also is eliminating about 425 jobs in York, Pa., and 85 jobs in Kansas City, Mo.

We can't get 'em. I had a bunch on order, the order was canceled. Word I heard is that they were mistakenly turned off with the P&A stuff, and that the turn off isn't easily reversible and likely won't be. Al |

I just ordered a pair, individual part numbers not the pair's p/n. We have received one side still waiting for the other. For an 08 Uly. Also looks like the aluminum belt guards for the airbox are still available. Uly Comfort kit Gel pad for Triple Tail Some more I can't remember, I was surprised... Zack |

I might get around to fitting the pair I have in a box in the garage... Or hang on to them as now they're hard to get hold of they'll appreciate in value (joking!) I probably should've done it in the summer though, but I guess the heat gun will do the job anyway.. |

You shouldn't have a problem, Jules. I did mine in the dead of winter and just made sure I got that area of the frame nice a warm with a hair dryer, cleaned with alcohol, warmed the adhesive on the pucks, warmed the frame again, then applied. ...then warm my face with the hair dryer. It was cold. Definitely make sure to do a practice application with the tape still on to get the positioning just so ... b/c mine are for a Uly — as I'm sure most are — the frame and puck match aren't exact, and just a little aft or a little lower won't let all the adhesive stick right. I'd be interested on where you sourced your aluminum belt guard, Zac! If Al's getting them soon, I won't worry about it, haha. |

That might be a good thing for us long-term owners to add to our spare parts inventory. Al- do you think you'll be able to establish contacts with this company to keep getting them after the MoCo stops? |

Ya, that's a trick I learned years ago. If a "kit" is discontinued, try ordering individual items. 9 times out of 10 it'll work |

Xnoahx, thanks for the part numbers. Just ordered both sides from High Country in CO. Except it was about 100 dollars after shipping |

Al- do you think you'll be able to establish contacts with this company to keep getting them after the MoCo stops? Not likely...I've tried on several occasions and have generally been unsuccessful. HD/Buell has contracts and NDA agreements with each other on all these products. Even if I know the source, I'm not likely to get the signature required from the proper HD source to grant rights to use designs or tooling. I think even Erik Buell racing has these same issues. Al |

Seen just that happen here a few times. I'll bet the pucks go on backorder this week. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. |

Since they're not designed for the 1125 bikes (the pods serve that purpose for us) I say leave 'em for the XB12Ss and Uly owners who actually NEED them. |

The frenzy has already begun. This past week, a new pair of Uly pucks went for $128 on ebay. Crazy, but seeing as how some people will pay over $300 for the comfort seat, nothing surprises me on ebay. |

I hope it wasn't anyone on Badweb that paid $128 for those "Uly" pucks...because the part number the guy posted was actually Lightning pucks...yes, the same pucks that Al sells for $50! I emailed the guy to let him know that...but he never changed the ad...there is going to be a very upset Buell owner. |
