Well I guess I have three issues/understandings 1. The guy is out to sell bikes 2. My Karma is damaged from the Buell X!and I must make that up. (thinking error anyone) 3. I will not buy the bike unseen and worse case is that I get to spend some time with friends. 4. Lastly I have an unfounded sense that Buell/HD despite being in the business. They were a bit haphazard with their distrubution and a non-matching setup may mean something, it may mean nothing. I figured this would be a great place to find out as much info as possiable. A good group of honest people is hard time come by. We'll see... got the vin 4MZHL04D383B020** I guess that's all of the information. Now I just need to buckle down and make a decision. from the factory the 08's were any color you wanted as long as it was black. i do recall some dealers having made the swap to white and i think a few were made red too. marketing as always. |

I like the color.combo. it is an 08 no question on that. The question is why is he telling you its a 09? My guess.he's just trying to sell a bike and talking out.his @$$ but i would.check it very carefully and i you like it and it checks out sweet. But i would be super cautious. My experience as a salesman many just will never say" i don't know why those plastics were replaced" |

My Loretta was built at the end of the first week of production. That is an 08. no room for discussion. PM me the VIN and I'll tell you the specifics. I do "Parts" at High Country H-D/B, we're a sponsor. Come see me if you are ever near Denver. 08s have their own niggles but NO electrical problems, I LOVE mine. Zack |

My bike is a 09 but sales paperwork from the dealer says it is a MY 10, mistakes happen and sometimes people with a passion for a bike know more about it than the dealers. Does not always mean they are up to no good. Edit: the number 8 in that vin means it is an 08 model. (Message edited by stimbrell on October 30, 2010) |

Zac4mac, thanks for the vin check. Nice to know that the bike has been taken to the dealer for the recalls. You should expect me through the Denver area in the next two years as I have plans for a road trip through the Rockies John |

Be advised that the bike has the original clutch cover. You will have problems with it "weeping" (leaking) clutch fluid potentially damaging the paint and running dry on fluid causing you to lose clutch pressure. Might want to get it fixed/updated to the latest rev clutch cover and piston seal/internals. |

Oh, and BTW... 40k out of the 1125 motor is certainly achievable, I think there are a few out there already that are approaching that. I'm approaching 61,000 miles on my 2008 1125R (which has black plastics with midnight blue frame/wheels). |

Went and looked at the bike. Started it, listened to the motor and looked over and under the plastics. Bike looks to be in perfect condition. They are going to let it go for $5000. So if feels like a great deal. I have not signed anything yet, I am waiting to ride it, because of the weather I couldn't ride in the rain. So I will go and look at it on the 18th and see what's what. John |

Did you ask about the white plastics? That model year NEVER came with white plastics regardless of what they may claim. |

Some great pics... As. For the plastics I could decern no damage to the bike at all. I'm going to go with 'they just don't know' and leave it at that. If there is a 1125 owner that is in the Tacoma are and want to check it out with me on the 20th I would. Buy ya dinner after. I do agree that this is almost falling into the too good to be true with the price and miles. But guess not quite since I have not been scared off by the situation |

Want to extend a personal thanks to Paul/ chamelion for the time he took from his day to swing by and take a look/ride on the 1125r and give me the low down to make an informed decision. The short answer from Paul is that its a solid bike. Now I just need to take a spin on it and know that its something that I really want |
