About 12 pounds lost is equal to 1 extra hp. |

About 12 pounds lost is equal to 1 extra hp. Oh God don't say that, that means I'm robbing the bike of a good 5hp.. Damn those jelly doughnuts! |

I've always heard 6lbs to 1hp. For sure, the extra weight keeps the bike from accelerating as fast and makes more work for the brakes going into a corner. |

I'd heard 5-6 lbs = 1 hp also, not sure how valid the statement was though. I could pick up a couple of ponies by dropping some weight myself. I need to lose about 10 lbs or so, but I kinda cheated and just built an exhaust for my bike to get the extra power. I got a little more hp than I bargained for.

Losing weight is more than just power. It helps your stamina, reduces load on your knees, wrists and ankles, and much more. |

Jdugger, spot-on! My stamina is back big time. After dropping the 25Lbs, I pick up a 25Lb weight to remind myself of what I was hauling around! Ain't done yet--this veggie diet works and I want to drop another 20. All natural home cooking, no weightwatching bs. Do miss steak; but health overrides that! As far as the bike going faster, 150 has been easy with this bike. I need to hit a race track to see top end speeds and not worry about getting arrested! |

yeah so far im down 65#s from 5 years ago it's a long and challenging process to change your mindset on food. but it can be done. i have done the same thing a time or two, picked up that equivalent weight of what i've gotten rid of and WOW!! |

my previous bike that i sold to pick up the 1125R was a 2003 gsxr 750 with full yosh pipe, KandN filter and a power commander map dyno tuned for my bike. 132rwhp my 1125R with FMF pipe and Erik Buell Racing ECM for the FMF is better in every aspect.... and it's faster |

I play with my buddy all the time. He has an '08 GSXR 600 and he can't touch me. I pull him no matter how hard he tries. He also has his bike geared waaaaaaay down. His top speed is like 150 I think. When I'm doing 60 his speedo say like 95 or something crazy. |
