Thanks Jornum. Every time someone posts that the pods will protect the frame, I start hunting around for a pic like that. I have seen several damaged frame pics on here that would have been prevented by Uly pucks. I tried to order some from Al last winter with no luck.

I've seen frames damaged with the pucks too. They aren't a cure-all.

Not a cure all of course, but the majority of damaged frames take the hit right there on the high spot above the pod. An accident worse than that will probably cause other damages totaling the bike anyhow.

My CR has been down on the right 3 times, the pod took the blow each time.

Oh by no means a cure all, but I am sure the damage would have been significantly less. It hard to tell from the pic, but its not just ground down but concave from the initial high side impact.
I actually pulled the pucks off my xbss onto the 1125 now to cover and protect the damage until I can repair it.

I was just saying they can help the 1125's too.

Froggy its the high speed high sides that toss the bike and they land above the pod. I was at monticello doing I would guess 60-80 mph(didn't really have time to look!) coming out of a long turn into a straight.

Sure, I wouldn't argue that the pod doesn't do it's job more often than not, it does. However, you can't argue with Jornums proof or the fact that his damage as well as many others would have been prevented by the pucks. I don't know what else to tell ya. They seem a worthy addition to me. That is like saying the swingarm sliders don't always protect the swingarm from damage (they don't) so why bother?

Took a low-side spill last winter (tires weren't warm enough for aggressive cornering). The pod took the brunt of the hit. Not a mark on the frame. Only expensive piece was the clutch cover. I wish SOMEONE would make an inexpensive clutch protector. Those CF items from Erik Buell Racing are as expensive as the part they're supposed to protect!!

Donald,

Those pucks won't work. For the 1125, only the Uly pucks will work.
