After 2wks at the dealer she has a new stator. Picking her up tuesday. Sadly my dealer could give s#it about Buells and I am worried as to how this might translate to the work performed. My plan is disassemble and check out the routing of wires, look for missing bolts, scratches etc... OH yes, Ill be sure my charcoal can is connected (they missed this little detail with the harness install.... nice open port to the TB) To those that know: Anything in particular I might look for if someone was cutting corners, rushing, didnt know or didnt care. These are not malicious people at this dealer. they just have me worried. what the hell though, i got a free stator! todd |

look for oil leaking from the gasket between the stator cover and engine, i hear the cover is hard to install properly. |

The cover gasket "isn't" difficult (hard) to install properly..! Don't know where that idea came from. Just don't let the rotor magnets rip the cover out of your hands while putting it into place..! I'm in the middle of doing my own replacement. Decided to stop and check the valve adjustment while I'm at it. It's been a little over 10,000 miles since I did it the first time (near 4000 miles).
