I'm sorry, but I've NEVER liked the way that one looked. Kinda seems like a waste to trash an 1125 to get that and then be expected to pay more for it. I paid full price for mine before the H-D debacle and I'd do it again. That thing, on the other hand, not a chance. |

Oops! Sorry for the repost. I didn't recall seeing it here. Haha Jules! "Fugly" was the first adjective that came to mind but I didn't want to start the post negatively. After reading the MCN article where they estimate the price at 17,500 GBP, I'll add another adjective - "Unrealistic". Nice to see the enthusiasm for the Buell though. |

completely ugly, however the design of the forks and front suspension is interesting. linkage based with single shock. wonder if it could be practical |

Was Confederate the first to use the girder-type forks? I like their bikes but whew, I thought the Magpul Ronin was overpriced!

Confederate cycles are boutique bikes for rich people. Never been a fan of them. As for the Magpul, I like the tail end of it, not the front. I think the tail section and battery relocation are absolutely sexy. It is a well designed bike IMO. |

And a restyled, slightly re-engineered 1125 from a weapons accesory manufacturer for about $26,500 is not a boutique bike for rich people? I do like some of the unique engineering solutions like the radiator mount, but aesthetically it is not cohesively pleasing, IMHO. And that's before considering the cost. |

Jng: Never said it wasn't. Then again, $26,500 is a lot more accessible to the common man than $100,000...wouldn't you agree? Confederate cycles are specifically geared towards rich people...they've sold exclusively in Nieman Marcus for god's sake. No thanks. High priced boutique bikes and choppers like those from Big Bear or OCC are all shit in my opinion. Spending 70 grand on a "hog" isn't what motorcycling is about IMO. I'll get off the soapbox now. |

Agreed, it is much more attainable for a larger segment of the riding public. I also agree that boutique choppers are outside of my personal definition of "motorcycling" and are more status symbols and toys than "real" motorcycles. That said, if I won the lottery I would probably buy a Confederate Wraith. I do enjoy the engineering and uniqueness of what they build. My other lottery bikes would be a Desmosedici with full Corse kit and a Bimota Tesi 3D. If I won the 9-figure Powerball I would commission Bimota to build me a Tesi with a Desmosedici motor in it. That would be the ultimate moto-exotica for me. |

I like the way you think Jng, but I couldn't force myself to buy a Confederate. I will say this though, after winning the 9fig powerball, I'd have a motorcycle collection rivaling any Saudi prince...and I'd find the time to ride every single one of them all around the world. Oh to dream!! |

I just can't get to the point to where I can appreciate the look of the front end. I do however, like the rest of the bike. Overall, they are pretty cool machines! |

Those guys, Magpul, are right down the road from me. I've seen the bike 3 or 4 times now with 2 different riders. Last time I saw Grady, I told him I REALLY want to ride it. I like the back end of the Ronin, but not big on the front end. They did a lot of work moving the rad to the forks and got it working, sort of. Last I heard, it was still running on the hot side. Was Confederate the first to use the girder-type forks? My '48 Indian has girder forks...a lot of others from way before that did as well. |

I'm with you guys on the not an improvement opinion. The front end, although looking very professionally done, looks visually very heavy. The rest of the bike seems to be very disjointed. Not to my taste at all, but nice to see people out there making the bike there own |

let's connect the dots here, a weapons manufacturer with a center of the forks radiator. Perhaps that is not a radiator? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caseless_ammunition |
