'09CR, 4000 mi, harness update, denoided, dash display loses MPH reading when super hot other than that trouble free. One set of tires, this bike has a lot of character and gets a lot of looks. I love it. |

6k miles no issues. I got the recall snail mail on the wiring harness but havn't been by to do it. I did loose the kick stand spring, took 2wks to get another. Sometimes the engine light comes on but seems to be when there are dramatic changes in elevation. She sometimes doesn't want to turn over when hot. Other than that I plan on keeping her, and have done some easy mods: Denoid dongle HMF aluminum can Pirelli Angels My biggest complaints is even though the bike is super smooth and nimble, I mean it really carves without the chassis flex I used to get on my RC51 once above 100 plus the front end will dance around. I need to get the suspension sorted if that doesn't help I need a steering damper. Also the wind blast is pretty brutal it would be awesome if there was a good looking half fairing option from the after market, but I know that won't happen. Still the bike offers everything I've ever expected from a stock bike, which has never happened before. Well, at the risk of jinxing things....2k miles (I know, low miles - too many Buells in the garage), 09 CR, harness update done, bone stock bike other than Buell touring seat, Uly pegs, passenger peg and bracket delete, shortened fuel vent hose, and heated grips. Not a single problem, other than I don't ride it enough. |

So far so good, about 7k with no problems, still have not changed harness. Have had no issues with seepage of water pump or clutch, voltage is fine. Do need to change out the tires soon. Normal riding is highway with typical trips of 35-50 each way (I use it for commuting). Did do a 300 miler a few weeks ago over the twisties of WV and N VA and had no issues and lots of fun though arse sore after all day in saddle. |

4200 miles. Lots of mods including mosfet regulator. Just got back from a 1000+ mile road trip. Clutch slave went out just as I pulled into the garage. It started showing black fluid in the site window 1st day of the trip, but no weep. |

8255 miles and no problems so far. I had the harness installed around 2500 miles. I thought I had a stator issue because the other night when I had the high beams on my batt light came on but I must have been running low rpm too long. My dealer says everything tests very well. Erik Buell Racing ecm and Keda RT1 make this bike just amazing. |

Heading for gas and died at left turn light 'system voltage', I was in neutral. As I was pushing it out of everyones way I hit the starter and it started, barely. I went to plan B and hit the freeway for 'more revs' and gas downtown. battery light came on at every stop. I gassed up and went home at 5000 rpm and 12.7 volts to get car and work a bit late. I spoke to Levi at LatusHD about this. I found out they have my clutch weep kit and stators in stock. I asked about voltage a regulator and mentioned todays thread about a poorly secured VR. He said they had those in stock too, just bring it in. P.S. The first stator went at 2200 miles and I am now at 5700+- miles. The harness did seem to prolong it's life. 09 CR. 2200 miles. I had the wiring replaced. Nothing for the clutch weepage....I have seen some of the coolant leaking spots. runs rough in slow areas of the city, when the speed is 25-30 mph posted. there is no smooth spot, very jerky there, but is much better over 40 . Kind of hard to ride thru my downtown with it jerking all of the time. 1st if too low, third is too high, and second is jerky. I hear that the race module unit from Erik Buell Racing helps that? most round town riding. I did do a trip from phoenix to laughlin, about 6-7 hours each way. ran great. when it was hot during the summer, I did have one night where the lights would come on at the stoplights, oil and battery. |

No matter how i check the oil, I cannot find oil on the dipstick. the dealer says it is fine. I have ridden it, let it stand for 3 minutes, kept it upright, tried to find oil on the stick and nothing. I even trailered it to the dealer, in case there was no oil in there. they checked it rode it 50 miles and it was full. I just wish I could check the oil. I wonder if we can trade out the 10 case with the site glass? |

3k miles, water pump blew at 2.5k. other than that I really like the bike. Also did the de-noid and harness upgrade. I'm not so confident about long term reliability so I'll likely sell at the two year mark. I wish the rear shock was more adjustable. (Message edited by JohnnyS999 on October 01, 2010) |

Danny Eslick's RMR Buell 1125R was perfect last year in Daytona Sport Bike. |

Well when I'm 100miles from home I won't have Danny Eslick's pit crew there to sort out any problems with the bike. Thanks for the positive feedback guys. It's good to see there are a few here that hit the 10,000 mile mark without major problems. But even on a "trouble free" list there's a lot of people commenting on failed stators. I just hope I'm one of the lucky ones. I still have the original belt on my '03 and I know tons of people had problems with those. I've never had to use my nearest dealership for repairs and I hope they treat me right. It also sucks that they're an hour away. |

09CR. Build date in 8/08. Problems: Water Pump witness hole leak. Blinkers... not. kickstand spring, broke. Std. barrage of recalls for period (cam chain tensioner, charging harness etc etc) Forks: I have a serious suspicion that the factory over filled the fork oil or used the incorrect springs or the wrong preload spacers in, as the forks are a total brick. My 230lb ass with ZERO preload and wide open comp damp still only gets about 2.5" travel after damn near pulling stoppies! (the diag on this is a work in progress). Otherwise, the bike has been pretty damn stable. Motor is good, nowhere are there signs of corrosion, or fatigue throughout. Build quality on par with market etc. Factory support is a bit frustrating, aftermarket is fairly abundant, cooling system is fantastic (really though. IMO this bike keeps its cool. I have ridden many crotch rockets, the area I live in sees 110 for sustained periods (5-15 days) over the summer. This bike keeps a lower avg. engine temp than ANY of them in these conditions. Impressive in my book. Belt doing good, tire consumption not too bad. |

Danny Eslick's RMR Buell 1125R was perfect last year in Daytona Sport Bike. This is a inaccurate statement.I was told by ebr that danny had stator issues and he ran of the battery in some races. That is why ebr uses 08 stators. I always thought that in the ama you ran all stock parts as internals. So using 08 stators in 09 motor should of been against AMA rules.Just speculation on my part about the rules.} |

No problems at all, runs perfect (Stock) and has not flashed a bad light, I do tend to run it hard - Harness upgrade was done early on 500miles or so. Had a rear signal replaced under warranty - I did have allot of fuel drip from the vent hose, factory stepped up and did Cali can under warranty. I've added high bars, comfort seat, tidy tail, Knight footpegs, and Stainless exhaust turn outs - I only have about 2K on the bike, I do Iron Butt stuff and put almost 15K on a V-strom, plus off-road on my Husky, etc. Lots of riding, but sadly not on my Buell...I kind of bought as an investment, but one I can have fun on - I missed out on the $1200 Nortons back in '76. I sold a XB12sTT just before the October surprise. |

In racing, when you finish every race, win many, and take the championship, that earns the machine a perfect record. Rules allow for a bunch of non-standard parts. It's called homologation. Not sure stock stators are even required. I doubt it. |

That brings up another good question . Why would buell continue to produce bikes knowing the stators were failing in danny's bike. And then put them on showroom floors???? It just seems like they new the end was near and ran the parts out . |

How many times are you going to say the same thing? WTF. Think for just a sec, they had one failure. You think they should stop the whole 09 line because they had one failure. Lets be realistic. |
