Just had the CR trailered to the dealer. I was out enjoying this beautiful riding weather the bike died on four separate occasions. The first two times I was pulling up to a stop light in neutral and the engine just cut-out, IC was still on and when I tried to restart, I immediately saw "System Voltage" pop up, but it restarted both times. The incidents were probably 10 miles apart. Then later, while riding, the CEL came on and "Fuel Sys Pr" flashed on the screen and the bike started surging again (I had a previous thread about the surging). I was close enough to the dealer so I called them and they came and picked it up. ARGH! |

I know this feeling well.. my bike may have been at the shop more than my house... I'd have to do to the math to be sure. it's sad, lol. I hope your dealer is able to get it sorted relatively quickly so you can take advantage of the rest of the season! |

Hard starting earlier and now the system voltage with very few miles. HD's electricals are very weak, their outsourcing spec's were just as weak. I have almost 5,000 miles on my new stator with only 2 system voltage occurances. I try to; keep the gas tank full, 3 full quarts of red line ester synthetic oil every 1,000 miles, stay out of the heat, and keep the bike at 4,000 rpm or better on the road. The system volatge errors were with the Erik Buell Racing ECM on. The race ECM lets you backslide on the RPM's down to 3,000 rpm range. Correct me if I am wrong Froggy, this issue is not addressed in the Erik Buell Racing ECM's voltage regulator schema as a 'Race Only' module doesn't face these issues. I would estimate that the lions share of Erik Buell Racing ECM's are on the street, the 'Race Only' argument covers Erik Buell Racing's liability and EPA to a lesser extent. |

What an awful weekend for the bike to be in the shop! I don't think we'll get many more weekends like this last one this year. It sucks that it has been in the shop so much, but thankfully I have the ESP and if they need to keep it for a month, that's OK with me as long as they fix it correctly. |

>>> 3 full quarts of red line ester synthetic oil every 1,000 miles Dude. >>> stay out of the heat, and keep the bike at 4,000 rpm or better on the road. Entirely unnecessary. >>> The race ECM lets you backslide on the RPM's down to 3,000 rpm range. Huh? |

3 full quarts of red line ester synthetic oil every 1,000 miles what exactly is the point of this? |

Sounds like an oil consumption issue. |

1000 mile oil changes - that's about 4 or 5 track days... sounds about right... Hell, I got tires that don't last that long.... |

Well I received a call from the dealer on Friday. They are replacing the starter, replacing the harness and still checking on the stalling / surging / fuel sys pr problems. Don't think I'll be doing much more riding this season. |

joseb i was having the same problem with mine, stalling out at random times and fuel sys pr codes, my dealer found that the fuel pressure sensor was bad. i have only had the bike back for about 150 miles now but when i brought the bike to them it wouldn't even stay running if the coolant temp got above 180. after they replaced that sensor it hasn't died on me yet, granted I've only put 150 miles on it. |

Hmmm, that's great info Josh, if they haven't reproduced the problem by the next call, I'll be sure to mention it, maybe they can test it. Thanks! Glad to hear yours is running better! |
