Yeah, how about these... Dunlop Q2 Qualifier Performance Radial Rear Tire , Size 180/55ZR-17 SKU# 52529 I got mine from motorcycle-superstore.com They have a harder compound in the middle for long lasting street ridding and softer outsides for grip in the twisties when hitting the tack or canyons. I am on my first set and have put about 3000 miles and the rear still looks good. Check them out... Paul. |

I just ordered a set of Dunlop Q2s and excited to give them a proper break in. BTW, I just got an email from Erik Buell Racing and they have take offs / new Corsa IIIs for $100 a tire if you just need a rear to finish off the front. Almost wish I would have waited... I think I'm going to stop by a pick a rear to match and finish off my front anyway. (Message edited by 09_1125r on September 19, 2010) |

Anybody tried metzlers on the 1125? I used to run metzler me880's on my sporty with great success. They fell into the corners, griped better in dry and wet, and lasted for 15k miles. I know the 1125 wouldn't want me880's but i think the metzler m3 or m5 would work for the 1125. |

I ran MeZ4's and MeZ6's on my M2, and liked them fine. If you ride your 1125 like an XB or tuber, they would probably do reasonably well. You would have to dial back the riding though, otherwise you are just embarking on a very expensive experiment in substituting expensive bent motorcycle parts for cheap tires. |

the z series is metzlers sport touring tires, so i can see why those would not have alot of grip. I'm talking about the m3 and m5, which are sportbike tires. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/28/394/2868 5/ITEM/Metzeler-Sportec-M5-Interact-Rear-Tire.aspx http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/28/394/6144 /ITEM/Metzeler-Sportec-M3-Supersport-Rear-Tire.asp x |

How do you burn up a set of tires in 1800 miles? Do you check your air pressures regularly? Unless your track riding, I can't really see how it's possible. I ride my bike about as fast as possible without killing myself or getting a ticket (that doesn't even matter so much some days) and I just hit about 2100 miles, and my tires still have 50% or better of tread life on them. I only check my tire pressure about once every couple of weeks or if there is a major temperature change. I just don't understand how it's possible. |

Motorhead102482 - I have 5600 on my CR, with the tires at 36f/38r and they are maybe 1/2 gone. I think the guys that wear them out so quickly are street/track racing with lower air pressures and punishing the bikes far more than we do. |

Motor: Riding fast as possible in a straight line won't wear out tires fast. What kind of riding do you do? I wore out my OEM CorsaIII in less than ~1200 miles with one trackday in there. I now run through rears in about 300 or less track miles. |

How do you burn up a set of tires in 1800 miles? Weigh about 300 lbs ought to do it. |

I don't ride in a straight line at all. I ride the alps for about four hours about every other weekend. I have a pinkie finger widths chicken strips on both sides of the tires. I understand if people are track riding, but i'm sure it doesn't matter what tires you use if you're track riding. I stated in my first post that I basically understand if you're track riding it'll wear them down fast. But anyone that is riding on the street cannot possibly wear stock corsa III tires out that fast without running really low tire pressures. I run 34/36 front and rear and my tires still look good, and no I don't have a center flat spot like a lot of people. I live where we have traffic circles, so I get to lean her all of the way over at least twice on my way to work. Sadly, traffic circles cause you to be really good a leaning hard to the left. I just mounted the new BridgeStone BT-023's and they feel great. Grip seems great for street use and the price is half of the Corsa. (Message edited by deuceal on September 23, 2010) |

> How do you burn up a set of tires in 1800 miles? Cornering on coarse pavement in a warm climate. Takes less than that for me. I'm often done with a rear in 1,000ish in Arkansas. |

Motorhead- I live in an area with some great canyon roads. The roads are a rough asphalt. I do maintain my tire pressure 34/36 lbs. i was only averaging between 1800 and 2500 out of the Corsa 3 rear tire. NO TRACK DAYS! Bueller4ever- I weigh about 235-240 So if you two tire experts can figure out how i am only getting this kins of mileage out of a set of them DO ME A FAVOR AND LET ME IN ON IT!!!!! |

Up the rear PSI to 40, go easy on the throttle, and just be smooth in general. voila, thats how you get 4500 on a rear tire. |

got michelin power pures on my CR. i have been playing around with tyre pressures recently. michelin advise 34F/36R. im 2 psi up on that each end and the difference is amazing. a load better feel and turn in, the bike feels much more lively and grip feels better. cant say what mileage im getting but after 2500 miles the rear looks like its about 1/2way through its life. |
