ok i am racing a 1125r here in New Mexico and it is great but i have one little problem the steering feels very heavy.i have to press very hard to lean in to the turn and i have to hold a lot of counter pressure on the bar to keep it from standing up in the corners. i have set sag both front and rear to 30MM, i am 120LBS full gear, the tires dont show signs of damping problems, and have dropped the forks 25MM to try to decrease trail to hopefully gain the lightness in steering but nothing has helped i dont want to drop the forks any more causing an upset rear end what else should i try? i am thinking of an attack triple clamp but that is $800 out the window if it does not work

i am 120LBS full gear WOW. Have you tried a different tire brand? I could be way off but I know different tire manufactors have different profiles. I changed brands and before I had a hard time holding my line concentrating with both hands on the bars and now I can one hand the same corner. |

I am no racer, I have 95K mi on a heavily modified S1, penske, GPSuspension and my CR w 5500 miles re-valved/sprung. start at original, put the forks back to where they were. 'i have one little problem the steering feels very heavy. i have to press very hard to lean in to the turn and....' If you are pushing down on the bar/pressing hard to lean in it sounds like you need to reduce the preload on the front. Assuming the stock (.98) front spring at zero preload and thats still happening you need to go to a lighter spring. Erik Buell Racing has .95 spring. http://www.EBRacing.com/shop/page4.html |

Brandon, good to see you posting. I'll be at Sandia Saturday but not Sunday. I can't remember if the stock rear shock can lengthened, but that would help. |

Have you put a zip tie on the forks to see how much travel you are using? I wonder, at your weight, if your are getting the front down at all... |

Do you have Pirellis on it? I bet you do. I had the exact same problem and I tried all manner of setup shenanigans to no avail. The only thing that worked, and it REALLY WORKED, was a change to Michelin Pilot Power 2ct tires for my track day use. Unbelievable change. Light effortless turn in and holds a line mid turn hands free. If you're racing, you'll probably want something more aggressive than the Pilot Powers, but I think the profile of any of the sport Michelins will fix it. |

Looks to me like he's running slicks. What are you using Brandon? |

Steering Dampener set to tight, if you have one? My steering is crap when I tighten the dampener to much as in can barely turn the thing. |

I rode with Brandon ~6 weeks ago and he had just put on Continental slicks. BTW I run Power Ones and can confirm what you say. I think Brandon might be a Conti dealer. |

yep i am on contis and they have the close to the same profile as the michelin's my dampener is set so it still shakes just a bit off the bump. i have been thinking that i am not transferring to the front. if i take out preload wont that screw up my sag. i guess it is just a starting point. @jdugger im glad to hear that you will be out this weekend and it will be good to have 3 buell's on the grid |
