"members and moderators would stop the flaming of ppl for just stating simple facts." Facts are OK, innuendo, FUD and outright Bullshit are not. My 08 has had a few problems, all rectified in a timely manner. She has 25.7k miles on her. Miles are adding slower now as I have a Uly for commuting and grocery shopping. Get one, then you can talk of problems, otherwise STFU. Zack |

I sure didn't mean for this to turn into a flame thread... I looked at the bike and loved it and it fit me well. So I handed the owner some money, he handed me the keys and now I am enjoying a new (to me) 2 wheeled toy. Sure it might have some quirks, but I have yet to own a car or motorcycle that didn't. Now I am doing my farkle research to personalize it |

Machines is machines and they all eventually break down. I have an 08. I love it. I had zero problems until some person ran into it while it was parked. Shortly thereafter, as I was riding it to a dealership, I lost the tail lights. A little after, I had a clutch cover leak. I was having so much fun that it took me about a year to take it in....just carried a bottle of DOT 4. No problems for a couple of thousand miles or so. I have an 09 and as Forrest Gump might say, "I like it a lot." It had the stator fix done at 400 or so miles...all winter riding above 5 grand rpms. EVERYBODY should realize that since the advent of "Lean" and "Six Sigma"...NO MANUFACTURER on this planet is going to lay in loads of spare parts anymore. It just ain't gonna happen. No manufacturer is going to invest in spares unless somebody is using them. So don't get mad at Harley, get mad at Harvard Business School, Toyota and Motorolla. It won't do you any good either way. If you have a sub par dealer, write to Harley and let them know.....and find another dealer. I have access to two great dealerships, and I have been as happy as a clam. |

bought a leftover '08 in march. I rode it for about 300 miles and she was pumping oil out the top end. First they said it was a loose breather hose. When that didn't fix it they said a vent hole in a balance shaft wasn't drilled all the way thru. Four weeks waiting for the part, then bad news part wasn't available, good news new engine. Wait another three weeks. Morale, wouldn't trade the R for anything. Yes it does help when you own multiple bikes! |

Thanks everyone... I picked up a 2008 1125R with only 2200 miles on it. The owner had some idling issues and had the dealer look into it and they ended up replacing the throttle bodies (not sure why) and flashing it. Other than that it is bone stock, hell the rubber on the footpegs aren't even worn down a little (Message edited by bahnzii on September 10, 2010) |

Congratulations, I get sore cheeks with my CR. All those hours of ear to ear grinning on the road. :-) |
