Checked one out at a local dealer, red, bone stock, 7,999$ 14,500mi. First time I sat on one, it was right next to a 07 xb12R and I have to say I loved it. Does the price seem high? Should I consider buying it? I'll have to get rid of my s-1 first. Or I've been thinking about picking up a XB12R with an 88" kit. |

I paid about $1000 less OTD for one with 10 miles on it. Red 2009 CR. The going price for a used one is about $2,000 less. |

Go to "Search Tempest", a tool for searching all Craigslist ads for whatever distance you'd like, and search for Buell 1125CR. You'll find out the going prices. |

That does seem high for that kind of mileage particularly for one in red which is not quite as popular as the black ones. However, it may be for sale on commision and the dealer also wants his cut. Currently, there are two camps regarding Buell buyers/sellers, those who think they are worthless and are letting them go cheap, and those who feel they are VERY RARE and VALUABLE and asking big money for them. I don't think the market has stabilized for them yet so you will see a lot of flux in price. I think you can find a better deal right now elsewhere if you look. -Tutt |

I think if it fits your budget and is the bike you want...it's a good price. I bought my S1W (a '98, of course) in '06. With 1,100 miles on the odometer. I'd been looking for one passively for a while. Found this one - the RIGHT one - and "over"paid for it. Don't care. Love my bike, won't get rid of it. For the bike, and the condition, and what it meant to me to find one that nice...I paid a fair price. The CR is a good g-damn bike, at any price (I have one of them, too). Spend comfortably for your budget, and smile a lot when you ride it |

7,999 is quite high for that kind of mileage. You should shop around on Craiglist for San Diego. BTW we need to ride together when I get back to Lemoore in a year and a half! |

They sell for slightly less than 1/2 what they cost ($6K-ish on eBay). If you really want one start shopping and one just might show up for $2K less than the one at the stealership. |

I just got a "used" one from a member here a few weeks ago...fast black, of course I paid $5700 for it, with 170mls. The deal included all stock parts, PLUS: comfort seat; leather airbox bra; clubman bar kit; Uly pegs; traction grips; service manual/electrical diagnostic manual/ 2 parts catalogs. I have the original receipt, and he paid $5k for it last Oct during the fire sale!! My point- that price seems pretty high for "this market" and considering that mileage. Look around eBay and CL (and here, of course). You will find a much better deal I am sure. |

the deal you get used really will depend on what the original buyer paid...and how badly they are underwater. I wasn't because I was a smart shopper and as a result, Roger got his bike at a good price. There are PLENTY of them around... |

There are only a little over 3000 CRs made - these guys are making something difficult sound easy, that's a good price, if the maintenance was kept up. Its much easier to get an R. EZ |

Bad_boy, did you get yours from Baltimore or Old Glory? I got mine from OG and noticed a used Red CR, when I was last in for warranty service, thought you might have bought it. I'm in Bowie btw if you ever want to go for a ride. |

Why do people insist on bragging about there Firesale price, Those days are LONG OVER... Yea yea yea i got mine on fire sale also, but it is a good thing that the value is going up a little .. i would say that 8k for a 15k mile bike is a bit high, but not ridiculous... Remember these bikes were 11-12k originally. Just find a one within your price range, make sure it has had all the recalls, TSB's, etc etc completed, even better find a 09 or 10 with a remaining warranty. |

I have an Oct 09 CR that I think I might sell. It has 1900 miles on it and I got it at the fire sale price, so it is less that the one you looked at for $8K. Black, bone stock, except for the Erik Buell Racing Race ECM which made it run much better. You mentioned wanting to sell your S1 first, so if you want to wait for that, then there is no hurry. Tags are due in Oct. I am in San Diego if you ever come down this way. |

These bikes will sell for whatever we make the market out to be. The # of R's and CR's out there is so low (not to mention it gets smaller every time one gets crashed) that a small collaboration could make the price of used bikes jump. I am seriously aggravated that people are dumping these bikes with less than a 1k miles for little, to nothing. I paid $8900 OTD for an 09 CR with a 4 year service plan, roadside assistance, tire warranty and highbar kit. I don't think the dealer was going any lower. This was last December of 2009. |

$8K with nearly 15K miles ... Too high. Get that mileage down and it gets a bit more compelling. I've been offered more for my '09R than I paid for it new, but I can't replace it for what I'd get for it - So I'll just keep riding and loving it! |

Yea $8K & 15K miles doesn't work for me,I'd go 7K mis maybe at that $, but it's all about the buyers perspective. I posted my 08 R on cycletrader a month ago, 680 miles, $1500 in mods, $5700 firm. I had multiple "takers" all couldn't make the $ happen in the 11th hour. Now I'm thinking I had temporary insanity to think about selling her. I have: CRF450 for MX KTM 450 Motard for SuMo trackdays & street craziness 07 R1 for trackdays & commuting on nice days KTM XC105 cause I must have a 2smoke in the mix All of the above for a specific purpose - But I have 1125r because I'm a Buell fan since my '99 X1W, & when it came out, I had to have one. I don't know if that's stupid or not, lol. Anyway, seems like pricing is all about timing, but I agree fire-sales from dealers are gone & the "new market pricing" for used 1125's is developing itself as we type. |
