I am wanting to put a set of clip-ons on my 1125R for track use. Other than grinding the fittings off the stock top triple clamps for the stock bars are there any alternatives. It looks like the factory Buell race bikes have a different set up. I have e-mailed Erik Buell Racing two times and have not got any response. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

Those are good looking . I could buy a set of Attack adjustables for 845.00 and possibly get a little discount. I was trying to find a bit less expensive alternative. |

And that's just the beginning by the look of it...new clutch and brake MCs too. Sweet piece, but only if I win the lotto. |

Try convertibars. If you want some adjustability, that's the way to go. One heck of a lot cheaper! |

If that's all the feedback and options, then the only cost-effective track-ergo setup is the aforementioned route of OEM top triple clamp, grind off the nubs and use Woodcraft clip-ons. Then you can still use the OEM master cylinders. I saw that exact setup being parted off a racebike earlier this year on eBay and I'm sad I didn't jump on it now. If we're talking lotto money I'd have 2 bikes under my track day easy-up: a full Corsa-catalogued Duc 1198R and a race-kitted BMW S1000RR. I would have said 1190RR but sadly it doesn't have any traction control. TC is ruining professional racing but I do think for my ass it would have saved me from my last 2 track crashes. |

I bought a spare top tree, ground the clip on mounts off and drilled them for bar risers... Haven't fitted them yet as I bought another bike that I ended up doing the same thing to and like having two different styles. When you grind the nubs off it's REALLY hard to create a good curve - and there are two "webs" underneath that when you grind down to that level there's not a lot of spare material left... They look strong enough but I'll need to get them powdercoated to make them look better if I use them. (Message edited by Jules on September 04, 2010) |
