Tutt, in case if you haven't noticed, there is also a thread in the quick board also about this same legislation. It is a few pages long now, but it is more opinions on the subject http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?4062/591336 |

There are lots of things I don't like to see or hear that I would like banned like, fat women, old women, fat old women(although a rare sight, it's still a sight I don't want to see or hear). Maybe I should write my congressman. I wouldn't worry to much about this law. The aftermarket exhaust manufacturers speak much louder than some cry baby in the burbs. Even if it passes, it won't be enforced. I find the stock exhaust loud on this bike or maybe just the motor in general, but I don't like laws like this that take a shotgun approach to fixing a problem caused by a small group. If they pass such laws here, I will ride my bike at 8k rpms through my neighborhood at 2am just to piss off the cry babies. My exhaust is stock, so as long as I'm not breaking the speed limit, then there is little they can do. living out in the country, where it's generally quiet, I have yet to be woken up by a loud vehicle and loud trucks run rampant here. I can't believe California is wasting money they don't have on noise pollution laws. |

isn't it already illegal to modify any exhaust or smog equipment anyway? They need a law about a law? to say they can enforce the law?? |

As for the cops not having a db meter, a $20 app for your iphone gets you a real time sound analyzer. |

I am pretty sure an iPhone app won't cut it in a court of law. |

This is all quite fascinating. However, I wonder if anybody would be interested in actually WRITING the governor as Natty did, to try to stop this? |

I wonder if I can buy noise pollution credits to keep my aftermarket exhaust? I think Ive earned my fare share from developing electric vehicles. |

I did write Arny myself. Not as eloquent as the above one but enough to get the job done. Froggy, I didn't think to check the Quickboard (sounds like a kid's toy!). This forum is too big with too many compartments to post in. I get lost! -Tutt |
