Un-fixed means I removed the charging harness. Aka the fix |

I paid for the 5 yr x-tended warranty. So who cares if it's a mistake. The big mistake was hd dropping Buell right after Erik made the greatest bike ever next to the 1190. Plus I already tried the bike new with the fix and it died 30 days later (Message edited by Guard_rail on September 01, 2010) (Message edited by Guard_rail on September 01, 2010) |

So in effect you've returned the bike to the state it was originally designed to be in.. I still think the longevity (or otherwise) of the stator depends on how the bike is ridden (at least to a degree). Given the "fix" only makes a difference at low revs (where it seems the oil cooling is insufficient for the stator) then if you normally ride at higher revs then the fix might not actually make any difference for you It's probably as well that the "fix" was a voluntary free "upgrade" as opposed to a recall otherwise removing it would probably invalidate that extended warranty. Either way - fingers crossed, I hope it all works out (Message edited by jules on September 01, 2010) |

My daily commute is a 20min ride each way. Through the city stop and go until the last 5 mins. I've kept it high revs 5-6k until she dies. I don't know what the future holds but the past 6 months/5900 miles have been a royal pain. The count down has started!!!!! (Message edited by Guard_rail on September 01, 2010) |

Guard_rail, when you say that you kept in high in the revs until she dies, does it die while running from a dead battery or have you not been able to restart? And they said that the stator had failed so it was replaced, know why / what about the stator was bad by any chance? |

She would die when I came to a stop. Wouldn't start back up. I forget if it was 1/3 or 2/3 of the stator was dead. The battery never got charged while riding |
