So if my first stock stator had a stamp of 30/08 and is was the 30th one made in 08 and my new stator is the 49th one made 08, then how is it that after all the back order bull$#!t I'm walking away with a stator that was still made in 08 not to mention sooooo close in the first number (30-49). The thread that mentioned the code stamped on the stator must be flawed. |

Maybe the backorder is not due to them having to BUILD THEM. It has to do with where in there warehouse they stored them and have to dig them out. Aren't there also rumors that HD is getting them from Eric B Racing since he swaps all of the 09 stators for 08 stators ??? (Message edited by dmhines on August 31, 2010) |

Two things. First, are we even sure this is a build number or even any kind of serial? Also, it is possible the replacement stator isn't new. I am pretty sure HD legally can use refurbished parts for warranty work. 9 out of 10 times when doing warranty claims with major electronics manufacturers I will get refurbished parts. |

That big wait is small production batches and a boat ride. DHL or UPS overnight I don't think so. Another HD carton or two nestled into a HD container cargo box waiting to be picked up and sent out to sea.... |

Keep in mind that Erik Buell Racing volume is really low in the grand scheme of things. How many people have you even heard of buying a prepped bike from them? A dozen maybe? |

maybe maybe not. are we positive that the numbers are a build date? yes it follows the norm but it may not be. and if it works look at like this its been tested. |

I'm with Boogiman. Four digit date code. 30th week of 2008 vs. 49th week of 2008. Stators wouldn't be serialized. |
