}I LOVE MY MOTORCYCLE!!!! My CR is so much fun and it always seems to amaze me with is ability to perform on tight windy roads. I love the fact that it draws attention everywhere it goes from every type of rider. 3700 miles and counting with no issues. (jinx) I cant wait for my trip in NW Arkansas late next month. Thank you ERIK!} |

I hear ya! I love my 1125R. 9000 mile and counting with the exception of only a few charging issues in the first 1200 miles, I have been trouble free. I have a nice comfort seat, just ordered the race ECM and am considering ordering the KEDA exhaust this week! Can't wait...... |

Doing 36 next month - part vacation, part looking for land - Lassen Park and back. Renting a cabin - I'll be riding the best road in the world! At least according to Pshnit.com - lol - he gives Buell a good review as well. I have friends tell me the same thing - best road on the West Coast - I've driven it before and thought it very scenic, and the variations in curves just seamed forever and that was just to Red Bluff - I hear the second half is just as nice. Looking forward to it! This is why I got this bike - the call of the distant twisties! - lol EZ |

That's awesome Paul Loretta has 25.5k, not climbing nearly as fast as I used to. I picked up an 09 Uly in May with 12k, it now has 17k and change. BFFB |

I want a Uly! If I had one, my 1125R wouldn't have this many miles on it either... |

Almost 60k! That's fantastic. How's the power on your motor compared to a "fresh" bike? Are you able to make the comparison. My feeling is my 08 that gets most of my track miles is a little "flat" now at 40k, 10k of which are pure track balls out kind of miles. That's comparing it lap-to-lap with a newish '09. Still, it's pretty incredible to get that kind of mileage out of a motor like this. I know if mine popped today, I'd look at it and say "yea, I got my money's worth!" |

Iovin my 09 cr, 9000 kms in two months and counting hopefully have another month or so this season. I put the fmf slip on and ebr race ECM on it and besides it being a little louder than I expected it's definately turned into a monster, it's a riot to ride! It's kick a$$ to be part of this buell comunity. ( just need to get some local guys to get on one of these bikes). Thanks for all the help in the past guys, much appreciated. |

It still feels really good and strong, but I haven't really gone balls out lately to see if I can still get it over 160mph. I do know it can still get to 145mph easily and feels like it has more to give, but that's as far as I've pushed her recently. I am scheduled to do a track day (my first) on the 10th. I did recently have it dyno'd, but unfortunately, it was the first time I did so, therefore I have nothing to compare it to in the past as a baseline. It puts out better power without the inner airbox, so I've ran without it since (about 5,000 miles now). The only ill effects I've noticed from doing so is much more vibration when WOT. Seems like the mirrors are going to shake themselves off over 140mph (which is partly why I haven't been past 145mph recently). Here's a link to the chart. Higher (red) chart is with the inner airbox removed. Bottom line is 124.35 HP & 72.85 FtLbs. |

Wow, almost 60k, that's really impressive and the figures show you're still getting great power from the motor too.. That's good to know, although at this rate it'll be another 10 years before I see anything like that miles on mine! |

Honestly, it feels to me like the bike is producing slightly more power than it did when I first got it. However, it could just be that I'm becoming a better rider. I did also have a compression test done on my bike last time the plugs were changed (a few weeks before the dyno, almost 10,000 miles ago) that showed 110/110 PSI which is right in the middle of the spec. I think the key is that I followed the break-in procedure precisely and pay close attention to the oil change intervals. However, it is noteworthy to mention two things: * The oil was overfilled by the servicing dealership at the FIRST maintenance check even though I TOLD them about the revised procedure. It has been overfilled a few times (by me) since then with no ill effects. * I have only had the valves inspected ONCE which was actually done a little late at 13,204 miles. No adjustments were made at that time. I've received advice from a very reputable and knowledgeable independent tech that the initial inspection is the most important for this design and that subsequent checks are, in his opinion, pretty much a waste of time and money. great info on the valve adjustment! i was wondering about this. what kind of oil do you use? i was thinking of going to 15-50 or even 10-50. 20-50 just seems a little thick for a liquid cooled dohc engine you know? |

The manual says to use 20W-50 and indicates you can use 10W-40 in the cold. I tend to go by what it says. I've tried a few brands, but usually I go with Mobil1 V-Twin Synthetic 20W-50. I ran their 10W-40 this last winter (I was late getting it in and late getting it out) and not sure I liked the result. I even once paid about $100 for a gallon of Dumonde Tech GP 4 "racing oil" from the local Triumph dealership. Didn't notice a damn bit of difference except that my wallet was lighter. I do, however, REFUSE to use the CRAP Syn3 that HD tries to pass off as a top-tier full-synthetic oil. When I've used it, the oil is ALWAYS burnt up before the next change interval. No surprise though because it's f'ing Citgo oil produced cheaply in Venezuela (a nation lead by a madman who hates us and would nuke us if given the chance). HD has really lost their way. I'm really glad they let Buell go. In the long run it will be better for everybody (except HD, but them). (Message edited by chameleon on September 01, 2010) |

chameleon, what is your riding style like? Do you put on a lot of freeway miles? Do you hit the rev limiter a lot? |

Hey Pete. I too love my CR. I assume you are going to NW AR for BBB? I am going to that also. Maybe see you there! |

> I assume you are going to NW AR for BBB? Be careful. That's really not a very good weekend to be in AR, IMHO. A lot of cops, a LOT of cruisers, and a lot of motor homes and trailers well across the yellow line in corners. The riding really suffers -- it's just too crowded. |

me too , I love my CR it is just such a fun bike to ride . I have about 5k on it now and the only problem was the stator, otherwise it just rips and runs. I did pick up a uly recently to go back and forth to work and such and keep some mundane miles off the CR . don't get me wrong the uly is fun too,in its own way. Rick |

what is your riding style like? Do you put on a lot of freeway miles? Do you hit the rev limiter a lot? My riding style varies. I typically don't just cruise. I like to go very fast, but I do so in spurts as to avoid excessive attention from cops. I have hit the rev limiter many, many times, but I'm not constantly hitting it in the way one would at the racetrack. I do, after all, want this thing to last another 58,000 miles. I do commute on the bike, but my speed varies wildly on my commute and I don't always take the freeway. Often I'll take the freeway in the morning and the curvy back-roads on the way home... Sometimes going well out of my way just to have some fun. I'm well known for going across town by way of the next county. Here's a couple videos of me riding my 1125R. I ride a little more aggressive now, but not much. Artists Drive - the descent: 1-way 25mph curvy road in the middle of Death Valley which I had to myself. I went 80+mph in sections. 20081204 Mercer Island: Just cruising at the 25-30mph speed limit... until I came upon a Ferrari who wanted to play. Unfortunately, the road was wet with lots of leaf debris in the fun corners. Poor lighting & compression really made the video quality bad. |
