Hi all, Do you think the 1125r specifically the 2008 Signature Edition will become a collector's item and become quite valuable in the future? I'd like to hear your opinion's on this. Peter |

Every Buell built in 08 was a "signature edition", nothing special on that front. |

Tough call. I'd say no. They made a bunch of them, and no one is cutting them up to make choppers. As Buells go, they're not all that rare. I think the hand built tubers will be much more valuable. |

Are the 100th anniversary H-Ds really worth anything more? Not that I've seen so I'm guessing the Buells won't be either. |

I do think however, that the limited run of post HD 1190RR's Buell will build in order to qualify for AMA will be collector items, since a good portion of them will be bought by race teams and beat up pretty good. A well preserved model might just hold some value. |

ask that question again in 15 years, assuming you havent hammed up your bike and/or put over 10k miles on it! i sold my '96 buell S2 thunderbolt that had the 0001 VIN on it and a CA model, in august '09 for about 2000 to another guy on this forum. they only made about 25 of those CA's in '96... with only like 1800 S2's ever produced TOTAL. the 1125 as you can tell at the top of this subforum had an 8500 unit production run. yes this bike is a collectors item since theyre not produced, but banking on getting any money from them will be a LONG investment term. i currently owe 2k more than my signature edition '08 is worth after making payments on it for 2.5 years!! |

"Are the 100th anniversary H-Ds really worth anything more" Actually some models of the 100th annv. do hold a little more value than a non annv. same model. If you have an anniversary edition really clean with low mileage, you can do ok on a resale. Im not say'n its a huge difference. |

Same problem as the Buells though - all 2003?? models were anniversary models. Maybe in 10 or 20 more years |

S1's in Portland and Seattle seem to be on the upswing price wise. Could just be the season. |

doesn't seem like very many bikes are a good investment. Just like cars, they're best bought 'cuz you want them. |

The pre harley Buells will be worth something maybe a lot. The S2's and some of the special run S1's provided they are low mileage and original. If you put aftermarket accessories on your bike keep all the original parts. This counts along with original paint and rarity. The only XB that will fit the bill is the TT, unique low volume model 20 years down the line no one will care it was a failure in the market. The 1125's...enjoy riding your bike. I don't remember them being sold thru the dealers. Probably sold thru the sporting goods line. |

Almost bought a TT. I'm riding my r till it's impossible to maintain. Sold my Millenium X-1 (650 of 800) for only 1500 so owning a Buell is not really an investment strategy |

Have a '97 M-2 it's worth more to me than the bluebook. I didn't buy the 1125R for investment purposes got it to ride! Just enjoy being different. |

I think they're cool, and I love mine. But valuable in the future ... I'm not putting my money on that. Just riding it!! |

I think they will be. If you have an 08 you have Erik's first liquid cooled full blown superbike, and the bike that changed Buell forever. We all know Erik is not done building bikes, and 20 years down the road i'm sure I could get the $5,000.00 I payed for it no problem. |

20 years from now we will have battery vehicles moving just as quickly as what we have now, think Tesla but cheap. Old timers will tell stories about bikes with mid 20th century electronics that never really worked all that well. The demand for oil will be 20% of what it once was. Coffee shops will recharge you and your vehicle in about 15 minutes. |

Judging from the prices I've seen on eBay and such, you guys may be right. But I sure hope your wrong. |

I just sold my xb for 4500. My bike a year ago would have sold for about 5500-6000. I don't think they are going to be worth anything but sentimental value in 20 years |

Only 3000 CRs made - so they will be. 1st year and anniversary 1125Rs should also qualify as a collector. EZ |

I hope my 2010 CR will hold its value. Not many for sale + very low production numbers. |
