Under the make haste principle, I managed to drop my bike in my driveway…thought I could walk it backwards with one hand while lifting my mountain bike with the other. I broke the right side driver peg and the plastic button on the engine cover. Other than that I can’t find a scratch which is pretty darn good. But now she won’t start and I have cycled the key on and off more than a few times. Can anyone advise of where the tripped bank angle sensor is located, I think it might be stuck? |

Part No. S0131.02A8 As far as i can remember, it's mounted on the left inlet duct /left pod. |

here is a pic of my bike torn down, if take off the left pod cover, the bank angle sensor will be towards the top of the pod, in the pic its the black piece with the two black bolts on it. In my pic, its in between the throttle cables and and the harness.

If it was on its side for any amount of time its possible that some oil leaked in the cylinder. So if you check the bank angle sensor with no luck try pulling the plugs and turning the engine over. Put a rag over the plug opening because if oil is in there it'll shoot it out and get oil over everything. |

If the turn signals are not flashing like hazard flashers, it's not the BAS. When you say :she won't start" what is actually happening? Does the headlights come on, do all the IC lights cycle, in neutral, does the starter relay click, do any lights dim when you hit the starter button? Answers to these questions will narrow down the issue. Neil S. |

My basis for that statement is from the two times I have dropped my 1125. All 4 turn signals were flashing when the bike was on it's side. When I picked it up, the lights stopped flashing and the Bike started. Hopefully I don't gather anymore satanic that regards. That's my experience and I'm sticking to it. Time4dinner Neil S. |

Loretta's been on her side 4 times. "Hazard flasher" every time, cycle key once and all is good each time. As a test, remove the 2 screws holding the BAS and turn it on its side. Same effect but the BAS is easier to turn right-side-up than picking up the whole bike... Z |

I verified the proper functioning of mine this morning. (Damn it!!!) zero mph roll off side stand in a gravel driveway. Yep it will shut off the engine and all turn signals and indicators flash. When I picked her up and cycled the key everything was fine except for my back and legs. Neil S. |

The continued threads have confirmed my suspicion that it was never the angled bank sensor. I pulled the left pod, removed the a.b.s., and shook it a bit to make sure that the device was not stuck. It was moving freely, so I put it back on the bike and she fired right up, problem solved! But after putting everything back in place I fired her again and she would not fire? I knew the gas was low but when I wagged her back and forth I could hear it swishing around. Regardless, I ran to the gas station and got four gallons of premium. I filled her up and she ran like a top. I rode her in to work today and all is well. The fact that my signals were never flashing have me convinced that it was always a fuel starvation issue. |

Go into diagnostic mode and ensure you have 400+ kPa pressure from your pump. Spec is 410 IIRC, book's in the garage, too far to walk now. If it's low, fuel pump may be bad. Another spec is 525 kPa with key on, no run, also IIRC. Wild Turkey may influence memories, check the FSM to be sure. Z |
