Before I start, excuse my english.Well is time for my 1125r to get it's first valve adjustment and the disassemble was easier than what i thought it to be. The only part that i think I might have a problem is the undertray and the tail section because all the wiring. But that's ok 'cause I got the CR in one piece and if necessary I'll remove the plastics to see how everything was routed. I decided to remove the frame instead of rotating the engine. The reason is that I want to change the color of the frame to the villian black of the 09's. Also the forks need some attention because lately the infamous clunk has been getting worst. Valves where on the tight side but still within specs. It will probably take me a while to finish it. First I need to get the shims because I want to adjust the valves on the loose side but of course within specs. I will update and keep you guys posted. (Message edited by froggy on August 26, 2010) |

It's probably a LOT easier that way, next time I _will_ be doing it as pictured above. |

Bueller4ever it was done at 11500 aprox. Wanted to do it earlier but my CR was in the shop for the stator fix (under warranty). |

Dean, adjusting the valves will probably be a lot easier once the engine is removed from the frame, but how much work is involved in removing the engine, compared to how hard it is to access the shims with the engine still in the bike? |

There's so much room for the valve adjustment that way. Found a small oil leak where the neutral switch threads to the engine. Also like I said, I plan to have the frame powder coated black. The swing arm is scratched from my accident a year ago. Also I have been thinking in ceramic coating the inside of the frame, then installing the aluminum foil (or whatever the name is) on top of that. Plus I want to have the headers ceramic coated as well. That should help a lot with the hot frame issue. This is gonna take some time because I rely on my bonuses from work for funding for my toys. That'll make me push harder on my job.. |
