Hi Guys

I've had a stealth after market exhaust (UK) on my 1125r from 900 miles.

When I fitted it it didnt seem to make much difference in power either way.

My bike has done 2000miles now and although i like the noise the staelth can makes compared to oem i thought i would just try the oem can again just to make sure i wasnt losing any power.

Well i just did a 70 mile round trip and i have to say it was like a different bike.
It was smoother, it felt like it had a lot more mid range and reached top rpms sooner.

ive got an ecmspy lead coming so will leaave the stealth can until i can remap the ecu to suit.

Strange thing is that my afv values with the stealth can where 100 front and 94 rear.

After my 75 mile trip today with the oem can refitted the afv values haven't changed.

i have stock pipe on my road cr with KnN filter and twinmotorcycles map in it .you can spend £500 + 0n a after market pipe and not gain much HP and get pulled over for noise or spend under £200 on a map and gain 20+ HP and the bike looks stock i have the new map off dris no disconecting the lamber sensors no TPS setting each start up ,low idle speed and it pulls like a school boy with copy of playboy .not easy to work it out

A proper tune will do more for these bikes than basic intake and exhaust changes. I have two bikes, one that is stock and one that has a pipe and the whole nine yards. The best thing I did for either of them was put on a Race ECM from Erik Buell Racing.

I can never for the life of me understand why people think they can change intake and / or exhaust on any bike, or car for that matter and not expect to change fuel AND timing, yes, timing as well!!! hell, some of the jap bikes now have different timing and fuel maps for each gear.
Change intake or exhaust, new fuel and timing needed. We are in the 21st Century. Using fag papers to time a motor no longer works.
Ok, Rant off
bad day
Sorry.

I got the HMF before Erik Buell Racing was selling their Race ECMs and I was not happy with it at all. Far from improving power it just was loud and had a noticeable lack of guts at low RPMs. I got the Jardine Tuner Card and it really did not help the way I expected. Some improvement, but no real finesse.

Then I got the Erik Buell Racing Race ECM calibrated for the HMF and it was like night and day.

Even with the stock pipe the Race ECM made the bike so much better it's hard to get anyone to believe it until they try it.

Now with the Barker and a new Calibration specific to the can it's even better. Way better. Tons of low end grunt, more finesse. Just all around great.

So if you are not happy with the aftermarket exhaust don't blame the exhaust: get a tune or buy a Race ECM.

Hmmm im not complaining or blaming the exhaust i just made the observation.

Iknow it will need a remap hence me buying and still waiting for the ecmspy lead.

You should try reading the posts properly before passing stupid comments

Mountainstorm >>>I'm thinking about getting the Barker but I don't want a loud can. Do you use a quiet baffle in your Barker?

The quiet core doesn't really make a whole lot of difference, I run mine without and don't have any compliants from the neighbours.. but I work 9-5, they might feel differently if I was a Postman..

Oh gee I sure don't want to passing stupid comments.

I've only run mine with the 1.5" QC so I can't say if wide open is louder. I would guess it has to be right?
