Just wondering how much of a noticable difference in the handling/"feel" of the bike with losing 10 to 15 lbs (?) down that low? |

I'd like to say I can feel it...but many other factors besides the weight have altered the way the bike responds. You could always strap some lead on if it feels funny to you |

10-12 lbs less weight, 17-18 more HP, 12-13 ft/lbs more torque. Nope, didn't change a thing. Well, the front end is a little lighter/twitchy feeling in 4th gear now. 1st through 3rd is still the same, it's tough to keep the front down unless I lay over the airbox. |

I could make it 30 lbs lighter, just by carrying a smaller spare tire. |

Man, I tell you, sometimes I think I make things worse messing with them... My track bike is fully 30+ pounds lighter than my stock 09, and dang if I'm not just as fast and perhaps a titch more comfortable on it... |

I am most wondering about any change in side to side transitions and cornering turn in type stuff. Since it's at such a low position curious as to how much change is noticed one way or the other, if any. Seems there was something about the fuel tank being placed beneath the Honda oval piston racer that Freddie Spencer raced and it did not do what they were hoping for. Or something like that. (Sorry to say "Honda" in here) |

Hey, nothing wrong with saying Honda in here, I really like the CBR1000rr. Not as much as my 1125R though, but still, Honda makes a great product. |

The bike lost 15.4 lbs when I removed the muffler. I lost 60+ lbs. I had to re-do the suspension because I lost so much weight. I went from 260 lbs last year to 195 this year. I'm on a self enforced diet because I turned out to have diabetes and blocked arteries (100% blocked in three arteries, 87% blocked in the other one). After a quad bypass around November of last year I started losing weight and eating healthier. My goal is to get below 165 lbs. |

I went for several rides over the past couple of days trying to see if I could notice any difference in handling but I really can't. The main thing I notice is the Barker revs up a lot faster than stock, not so much anything about cornering through esses. And I have plenty of back to back esses on my chosen routes |

Thanks Mountainstorm, that's what I was looking for. |

Duph - dropped 10-15lb sprung weight with denoid/can/pipe/ECM change. Like Dean, the performance, particularly at low end was immediately apparent, not weight loss so much. I did not perceive a difference in cornering so much as better response coming out of the corners. Like mtnstrm, personal weight loss has now led to the need to rework suspension. (my most cost-effective performance mod). I'll throw it out there... it appears the performance improvements trump the loss of sprung weight. Has anyone seen a downside to moving the center of gravity up a hair? I'd make a SWAG that it's only fractions of an inch (?). |

I think my bike feels lighter moving around my garage, turning into corners. It feels easier to flick since changing my exhaust in my opinion. |
