So I was washing my bike yesterday... and I noticed that my front rim was bent. I have the nifty tire and wheel warranty, but I was just wondering if anyone has got a wheel replaced under it, and what it took. |

It should be covered if it was the result of a road hazard. What do you think might have done it? Have you hit any curbs lately or are there some big pot holes in your area? Run over a tree branch or anything? (Message edited by xnoahx on August 18, 2010) |

There's giant potholes everywhere out here.... Every 50ft or so there's a pothole or a dip for the most part. Some parts are just 100-200ft of nothing but potholes and patch jobs... |

I used the warranty , it just took a claims adjuster to come to the dealership to look at it , but i broke both the front and back rims , needed new tires , brake rotors , blah blah blah But was awful glad I had the wrty , and I switched to red rims , make lemonade outta lemons right ??? |

It's not a huge dent or anything, maybe 1/8"-1/4" out of round for about 2" around the rim... Should I even get it looked at? |

Deff its a hazard now if you think about it. Do you think a racer would race on it if they didn't have to. Come on you got it use it. |

I would take it in to get covered. You paid for the warranty, now it's time to make it work for you. |

Interesting. I have been riding with a hazard for over 10,000 miles, no issue. If you got the warranty, might as well take advantage of it, but I recommend you wait till you have some extended down time, there may be a delay getting rims. |

Froggy why would you do that? I wouldn't want a bent rim at high speeds maybe when I was in my teens and didn't know better or care. But that's just me. |

Because I was 300 miles from home when I noticed, and it still holds air without leaking, and didn't affect the balance at all. My plan was to fix it next time I changed the tires, but the Diablo Strada has 14,000 miles on it now and plenty of life left, so if it ain't broke I'm not gonna fix it. |

Sorry for the highjack.....but Froggy....how long is it taking to get rims? I think I would like to dress the Shiny Beast up like Loretta. |

This spring was a long wait, but from what I understand that is no longer the case and would believe anything ordered today would show up within two weeks. I am not a dealer so I cannot check actual lead times and back orders. |

half of the front rims i have have a lil bend in the lip. doesnt leak, doesnt affect balance, doesnt bother me. the green 9r has had a bent lip since 04. but if i had a warranty on them id sure get new. but id also try to get the old rim when they want to junk it... |
