Here is another 1125R a little bit modified. There are many XB owners that we loved our bike, its torque, aesthetics and agility. When we first saw the new 1125 we got extremely disappointed. Maybe in the US the bike’s look may not be important but it is here in Europe, full of radical Japanese and jewel design Italian bikes. It was a pity that such as high performance bike did not suit our eyes. This could have been different with the Barracuda, however still not available (Will Bombardier may help…? let’s see…). I bought a new 1125R and I took it directly from the dealer to my friends from Solobuell.com shop. I just wanted to modify it a bit adding a XB look, leaving a city daily useful bike. Ohlins rear shock IRC radial front brake and clutch radial pumps Vrod headlamp with 3D desing support part XB rear sub frame with 3D design support part Active fast throttle RRC rear tail section Rizoma mirrows and turn lights Freespirits exhaust Erik Buell Racing Race ECM Un-denoided Modified seat Here is the result:

I like the XB tail - are the adaptor supports available? Personally, I'd black it out to match the frame...and I'd put a flyscreen on it, cut to fit the VRSC headlight. But that's just me. Looks good though! |

How would blacking out the tailframe match a diamond blue frame? I think the silver/ grey looks terrific. |

Looks like you put a lot of effort into it. I like that. I don't like the way it looks, but it's just my opinion. The headlight is just way off with the pods. I think the factory CR light looks incredible on the bike. Maybe, some custom fiberglass work to tie everything in. That's what I would do. Again, great effort on this project. |

You could have just gotten an 1125CR and achieved almost the same look |

Any issues with the belt exposed like that? |

I think you've done a good job, but would go with something more substantial for the headlight. The V-rod unit just sort of looks too small and accentuates the size of the pods. Did you consider something like an XB Lightning front end? |

I like it. The Vrod light makes it look retro for some reason and why not accentuate the pods...nothing but the 1125r has pods like that. |

I would like to see a pic of under the seat. How did you fit all of the electronics in there? It looks smaller then the 1125 rear section. |

I like it. Like a cyclops Lightning with big ugly pods. |

Nice job! I love the exhaust and tail section but I don't see the appeal of the headlight. The rest is damn smooth though! |

Badlions - you're right. Thought it was a CR (black frame), not an 08 R. |

I like it! Very streetfighterish. I'd be worried about my pant leg getting sucked into the belt drive. |

Very nice execution, again not exactly to my taste, but a great job none the less. Thanks for posting pictures |

I appreciate all the work that has gone into this bike, and the tail end looks superb. However I think the small V-Rod headlight makes the side pods look even bigger and uglier than they already are unfortunately Not my bike so of course my opinion doesn't matter a jot, and as long as you like it then it has succeeded |

Ithink it would look better with guages similar to the lightning. That cluster looks out of place sticking out there like that. The rest of the bike looks great! |

Thanks for all the comments, all of them very helpful for future mods. I see that the subframe in black will match better with the rest of the bike. Something that I may do soon. Adding a flyscreen would fill and enlarge the front end. The problem is to find one that matches. I see that many of you say that the vrod headlamp is too small for this pods. I think that the problem is the pods, there are no headlamp for such a huge pods! I have an idea regarding the pods, I could buy transparent methacrylate and warm it in order make a transparent pod cover. The pods are too wide and by doing that the look cold be narrower. Any comment that could help me with that? Some of you are right that the belt is way too exposed. I will solve that. The electronics where a kind of a headache. But finally everything fits perfectly. I will take few pictures. I will check the make-off pictures of the bike in order to show the process. Meanwhile here I have a couple of pictures of the headlamp and subframe supports 3D cad:
For the rear subframe part, you can contact http://www.solobuell.com. Ask them if the can provide it. |

don't wanna hijack your thread, but your machine would look killer with these pods (eskalations would be even better for your headlamp) and maybe the xb headlamp, like i did. if the seating-position with the xb-tail wasn't so odd (too low) for me, i would have put it on. btw: my best regards to the guys from solobuell!
