The bike was dying 2x everyday everyride everywhere I went. Put new battery in... It kept dying. Took it to dealer (barbs Harley in jersey). They had it for a week. Called and said at was ready( loose wire hitting frame discharging battery) I pick it up and it dies on the way home. I dropped it off at a buddies shop to get a new rear tire put on ( barbs wanted to charge $466? $266 for tire and $200 for labor. ) YEAH RIGHT!!! Plus it didn't have a nail when I gave it to them (here's the punch line) I go on vacation with the family come back & bike is ready at my buddies spot. I get there and the bike is on a trickle charger wait'n for me but I notice my friend has the little clamps on not the straight plug in line that I left on the terminals. So I say why not just plug it in he says he didn't see the line. I say how it's right here on the terminals. Then I don't see the end of line with the silver tip (male end) showing so I fallow the wire and notice it's running next to the battery tucked under the seat. I start trying to pull it out but it ain't buge'n. I'm thinking the head is caught on something. It wasn't caught, it was ZIP tied to the frame!!! Dum @$$ess. Was that the loose wire they were talk'n bout??? I really wanna say something, I just don't know what yet. Just take it back and ask them? Sounds like that's what they thought the problem was. Before that I'd load test the batter at AutoZone or somewhere similar because it may be dead. They should replace it under warranty if it tests dead. | ||

If it keeps dying when riding and the engine running then its not charging. As soon as you bike is running check the voltage by stepping through the modes on the dash. Any less than 13.5 when just started is a bad sign. Brians is better than Barbs for Buells from what many have said on here. | ||

You did'nt mention what year model it is.But,there are more reasons other than the charging system for why an 1125R will stall.There are service bulletins depending on the prod.date and a few other things.Sounds to me like you need to find a Buell dealer that actually works on these bikes danny | ||

Electricity 101 for the tech who initially worked on your bike: If a loose wire was hitting the frame, it wouldn't just discharge the battery, it would cause a short and probably melt the wire and maybe even catch the bike on fire. | ||

Thank you 'Carbon' Every bike in that dealer has the same connector. It's not like I have some new crap never seen before. It's like hide'n somebodys glasses or a alcoholics bottle or a crackheads pipe. I was SO offended. | ||

Are you complaining the dealer ziptied your Battery Tender pigtail to the frame? If so, I think you need to lighten up a bit. | ||

fresno, I think you missed the point,...................... the dealer actually thought the intermittent electrical problem was caused by the "loose wire" (tender terminal) and thought that ziptying it out of the way was actually a fix. | ||

No Fresno, I'm complaining that the dealer told me they found a loose wire that was touching the frame and that's why my bike is dropping volts like a hot potato and they zipped the pigtail tip to the frame under the seat make'n that pigtail totally useless unless I unscrew the seat. They didn't even put the little safety cap on that comes attached to that end and it was right against the frame. Also they said the bike was ready and it died 20 min later so they never checked there work. Now Fresno, if you leave a $20 dollar bill on your coffee table at your house and I come over and say 'Hey Fresno I found a twenty' wouldn't you look at me like you ain't find $#!t. I left that there! And you would see me as an idiot. On top of all that they stuck a nail in my tire on purpose to hit me up for that $400 dollar bill. There was no nail I checked. Plus I got the nail. It had no street marks till I road on it. | ||

I mean I have the nail and didn't see typical scratches on the head of a nail like you would on a nail that was Picked up by the tire on the street naturally. It was way to clean and shinny!!! | ||

Hard to believe a dealer would do something like that and on serious note if a dealer was that devious, I am sure they would have a collection of authentic scratched up nails to use. | ||

The tire wasn't going to pass inspection so I guess they figured I needed it one way or the other. Ok I confess I got the tire protection program and if my tire passed inspection my tire would have been free. I knew it and the dealer knew it and I told that to the dealer " if it ain't passing, I sure hope it doesn't get a nail". So long story short. I asked for trouble.
