Today I was stuck in I-40 traffic for about 50 mins. I saw coolant temp of 225 and air temp of 135. Real air temp was around 95-97. Besides my left had cramping and my a$$ burning we did good. Anybody else see higher temps? |

I've been riding in 104 degree temps here in Louisiana and that seems about right for being stuck in traffic. |

it was 104 today here in Austin TX. Saw 144 AT. Coolant Temp was at a 212-214F Make sure you check your coolant level and you are on the latest flash. Mine were much higher then yours OP. Check my previous posts on my high Temp woos |

This is a much more appropriate thread for a post I just made so I'll copy it here: I live in Central FL where the current temp is mid-high 90's and with humidity it is usually 107 heat index. When in traffic I will get to CT 195f or so for a few lights, but once I get moving at 45mph+ it cools down to 180-185 within a mile or so. Stock 1125R ECM with FMF slip-on. I even have a P1047 error which is too large a difference between F-R fuel adjustment. I'm currently running at 109.5 front/92.0 rear, which is the worst I've ever seen. I've had it to the dealer twice and just dropped it off for the 3rd time. It's running so lean the headers almost glow and it now backfires on decel which never happened in the previous 5,000 miles. I'm curious why your temp was 225 when I've never seen over 205, even in my current error condition and lean running motor. |

I'm usually 215 CT and 110 AT on a normal day out here, and it's usually only 80-90 degrees here. |

Yesterday it was in the high 90's and dew point around 75. Out on the interstate the temp in a couple of the cars I talked to was 115-117. The 1125 ran fine even in those adverse conditions. The 1125 and myself sure loved it when we broke out of traffic and got some air. During my normal commute, I'll see air temps in the 95-102 range and my coolant temp is consistantly 90-95 degrees above that. The consistant difference b/t the air temp and coolant temp indicates to me that the cooling system is doing it's job. Later Neil S. |

Puredrive and Ccryder - do you guys work in an office? I wouldn't want to be next to your cubicle after you got to work or back from lunch unless they have showers in your building! |

Puredrive and Ccryder - do you guys work in an office? I wouldn't want to be next to your cubicle after you got to work or back from lunch unless they have showers in your building! ; ) lol.. luckily it's just me in decent size office room. My funk is my funk..haha But here in Austin, In the mornings its been 78F or so. But it's the ride home that's a killer. My suggestion to the OP is perhaps check coolant, run Water Wetter, make sure that you are on the latest flash. And I will be switching to Amsoil. I am a firm believer in Amsoil in keeping the engine running cooler compared to other oils. Ran it on my 400whp GTI. Had engine temp gauges and the whole 9yrs and Amsoil kept the oil temp the lowest. maybe 15f cooler then other synthtics |

137deg is the hottest I've seen for AT and 220deg is the hottest CT (at GrandSport Speedway). The design of the radiators is what causes the super high and ridiculous AT temps. I relocated my AT sensor up inside my outer airbox cover and plugged the hole for the lower intake port and have not seen temps that high since doing it (I run the open airbox). |

when i first got my 08' R it had the originial flash which ran EXTREMELY hot!! in traffic or just puttin around i saw 245* F and the temp light came on...but the bike didnt skip a beat...this was in the middle of AZ summer and bout 120*F outside...so it's capable or running VERY hot..i blame it on the radiator set up and the lean condition of the first flash at lower rpms..now if it had the 1190 setup then it would probably NEVER see that temp...FWIW Jake |
