I have 1" lower pegs and have no problem with them but I hang off quite a bit. I do drag them on the track and will put the stockers back on for the next track day. So it depends how much you hang off and how hard you corner. I'd go for it. I like the comfort.
2" should be fine, especially if you are not overly aggressive of a rider. My Lightning is running something like 4.5" drop, it scrapes faster than a Harley low rider with 800lbs of fatman on it.
Thanks for the advice and input guys. I think I will go for the 2" drop and see how it works.IMO I ride in a spirited manner...but I have yet to touch down any hard parts while cornering. With my X-1 I used to touch the pegs fairly often so I don't think I'll freak out and fall off even if I do
I run stock Uly pegs and a touring seat on my CR, and have no issues with "space", despite one femur and one tib/fib being titanium.
I will habitually touch a toe when riding hard (balls of my feet on the pegs...but again, size 13s)...but have yet to put peg to ground. 2", for me, would be on the ground quite a bit I think.
No idea on the adjustment...but there was plenty for my 1" drop.
I'm running Knight Designs 2" drop pegs at 5'11 230. Live in central east Florida, not a lot of turns. Only have about 1000K on the new CR, but constantly dragged parts on the old FXDP. I have not touched at all. Not currently super aggressive since I've had it, as it is to friggin hot to gear up down here. But cruiser comfort and takes less then 10 minutes to switch them back.

There is just enough adjustment in the rear break to make the 2 inch drop pegs work for me. You may need to cut the stud on the rear break to make it work for you.
My profile picture was from testing 1" dropped pegs. No problem, and under normal street riding a 2" drop shouldn't be a problem with clearance, but may be a problem to get adequate brake pedal adjustment to meet the lowered peg.
What I really want is adjustable pegs so I can move them back
As Nallaice said, the Cycle Pirates pegs seem to fit your description. Here they are on my 1125R. I like them adjusted to the same height as stock, but about 1.5" back and they fit my 30" inseam and bad knees perfectly.
I ride probably too aggressively for the mountains and I've never touched down my size 12s.
If you hang off the bike, you'll keep the bike more upright when cornering and shouldn't come close to dragging your feet at most street lean angles. Here's a video the 1125 with Cycle Pirate footpegs in the mountains. My inseam is only 30" and I'm dragging knees a lot, but notice my toes, and therefore the peg) are not that close to touching down. But then again, my Cycle Pirates are set to the same height as stock, but approximately 1.5 inches back. 2 inches down with my size 12 boots would probably come a lot closer, but hey, more sparks!
I found the Cycle Pirates web site and yes indeed the prices are right. You Cycle Pirates guys like the standard peg or the 80mm peg? I'm going for it. Looks like about $120 for the 360 and a pair of pegs. Same as the cost of some non adjustable 2" drop Knight pegs.
Also...I can't get over how easy you all make knee-down riding look. Maybe I am just too stiff to get my knee out, but despite riding at a good clip and hanging off ala Lee Parks "Total Control" my knee never even gets close to the ground.
Do you mean the "Stunt Pegs"? I just got the standard pegs but thought a bit about the Stunt Pegs. The larger diameter should give a larger surface area for your foot and may be more comfortable. I just really dislike anything labeled "Stunt".
Let us know if you try them. I like that you can just buy individual parts so if you have a good experience I will likely get a pair in red to match Darth Maul.
Jdugger and most other track addicts are not a fan of dragging knee on the street and don't really condone my videos. I just can't help it. Cornering a motorcycle is the best feeling to me and dragging a knee is like icing on that cake. I've said many times that the 1125R is the easiest bike for me to knee-down on. When I say "easiest" it's because I'm riding at about 6/10th or so when I touch down, and can do it easily at speeds between 35-60mph. The bike is so stable and has such good feedback that I just pick a turn-in point and set the lean angle at the entrance of a corner, then roll-on the throttle through the corner and presto, sparkies!
I loved the OEM Corsa III's and had tons of confidence with them but the new Dunlop Q2's I'm running now are just that much better as they are touch stickier and warm up to knee-down grip within 2 miles for me.
All that said, don't be in a rush to drag a knee. If you concentrate on a proper cornering line, throttle control, and perhaps most of all looking far into and through the corner you will find that dragging a knee will come as a surprise.
They shipped tonight and supposedly will arrive Friday. We'll see. I'm glad you pointed them out, I can't afford rearsets, and I was concerned that 2" drop pegs might be a problem,
Make sure you use blue threadlock on the threaded parts. I installed and set mine once about 4,000 miles ago with no problems and I really love the grip and ergonomics. It's amazing the difference 1.5 inches make.
