Hey folks, just to quickly say that of all the good advice I've picked up here, "Buy the service manual" might be in the top three. I asked a question about replacing rear pads some weeks ago, and I finally got around to doing it with the newly purchased service manual nearby. I know my way around building cars, but haven't really ever messed much with my own bikes. I think it took me longer to find the right tools than it did to change the pads! Another good thing about the service manual - Damn good reading after the wife and kids are asleep! Mike | ||

My favorite new tool acquired from the rear pad change is the stubby 6mm hex key... never needed these stubby things around cars. | ||

I didn't remove the clamp thing (yes, that's a technical term!) that holds the brake line itself. I'd use the correct terminology, but I'm in the office and my SM is back home. I'd never get any work done if I brought anything Buell-related to work! I was very careful to not damage the finish on my nice blue wheels while removing the caliper. |
