I've got the service manual on the way, but I'm having another shop do the work. I wanted to get an idea of cost/complexity. Thanks in advance.

Nothing at 7500, you're in the clear as long as you did the 6200 mile service

Where are the service manuals available? And how much?

Thanks. I guess I didn't mean 7500, I meant the 6200. What is due there?

Yup, dumba$$ question. I found this in the owner's manual links at the top of the 1125 forum, for anyone else that was wondering:

Well....for what it may be worth...I checked my valves at about 4000 miles.
They were ALL too tight. As in under the minimum.........

I'da had problems if I would have waited to the 12,000 miles to check the valves.

Your engine...!

This may be a shot in dark 1_mike, but do you think that they were supposed to be like that? As in, as a service interval, the clearance value opens up a bit to an acceptable level near the 12k mile mark? Or are the clearance values for the valves the same across the board (as in assembly tolerance = service interval tolerance)? If there was not enough clearance at 4k mile, do you think that is taken into consideration at engine assembly as a value that will open up to an "acceptable" or "broken in" value over time (12k miles)?

Thanks Mike, I do recall reading your thread on that issue. I may have them check while the bike is there. If I do, I'll report my findings to compare. I'm interested in your response to Jeepinbueller's theory as well.

The 6200 mile service is a basic one, change the oil and inspect everything else. Very much a DIY if you are mechanical. Just be sure to look everything over that is in the manual like fluid levels and such
