Froggy, I would buy a new tube of AS5 if you are going to put it on your voltage regulator. I read that once you open it you are suppose to keep it in the fridge or it will go bad. |

Are you guys running two 30A fuses on the battery connection like the kits sold on http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/C onnectors/R_R_Connectors/r_r_connectors.html? Blk09r The wiring kits sold on the above link use 14 AWG to the stator and 12 AWG going to the battery. You said you went with 12 to the stator and 10 to the battery. Is the 14/12 kit not adequate enough for our stator output? |

1125cr - the second fuse in that kit is a spare. Single 30A master fuse, run to your fuse/breaker block for distribution. His terminals are for 12-14Ga wire, to use larger wire, you need different terminals than he sells. Z |

1125CR- The stock wire size is 10Ga on the 12v side and 12Ga on the ac side. I never checked what size wire the lugs were designed for, but I had no problem crimping and soldering them. |

Does anybody know if the relay hooked to the stator wires is on the pre-upgraded wiring harness? If so what is it for. I can understand it being there if one of the stator legs was being cut off. I do not know if my bike has had the upgrade, it has a replacement motor. I'm wanting to put on a new regulator but just want to plug it into the duetsch connector and leave the rest of the original stator harness. |

So far so good on the new regulator. No system voltage errors and voltage is usually above 12.5 at idle. Sometimes it's at 14.4. I'm away on vacation for the next two weeks so no riding. |

Very well! Voltages have been very predictable and stable. I think the OEM R/R gets too hot and starts causing problems. I don't know if the MOSFET is going to have any effect on stator longevity but I think it was a definite improvement for the electrical system. Currently I am running the MOSFET with harness disconnected and a stock replacement stator (not a re-wind) & the stator oil-dam-sealer-gunk removed. Personally I think the oil-dam-sealer-gunk removal is the key to stator longevity but only time will tell. Having a smoother running R/R in the circuit can't hurt. |

I agree with Parrick and Blk09r, I too have been running the Mosfet without the harness except im on a rewound stator and I too am seeing positive results. |

Just for the record, I'm still running the updated harness. I guess I'll leave it connected until the stator fails. |

I just did the FH012AA voltage regulator upgrade and I highly recommend it. My original voltage regulator was still working, but I replaced it to hopefully reduce the current through the stock stator and charge the battery better than the harness fix does. I updated my project page with new (to me) information about the FH012AA. I initially thought it was a series switching regulator that would reduce stator current, I was definitely mistaken.
