Hello all, haven't been on line for a bit and now i'm gettin the itch to do another mod on the 1125R...
I've tried the HMF and HPE exhaust, both are great especially since the bike has no mid and lower fairings...So I recently added the Ilmberger Carbon Fiber full fairing kit and the stock exhaust just looks stupid with this set up...
Ilmberger has a pic of their 1125R with the full fairing kit and an exhaust that's prolly almost the same set up as Erik Buell Racing system...and it looks good! So I guess my question to all of you is "does anyone have the Erik Buell Racing exhaust?" If so, are there sound clips available? How does it sound? and what are the potential gains with stock ECU and a K&N (or with the stock ECU and stock air filter for all that matters)...
No sound clip, sorry. It sounds great, but that's only my opinion. With ECM upgrade, it added about 10 hp at 4500 ft elev., so it probably is capable of more at lower elevations. I think Chevycummings got similar results (?).
For racing, the Erik Buell Racing exhaust is prolly a good choice although expensive, but I think you would find the combination of the Barker and Erik Buell Racing ECM a much better choice for street use/occasional track days. See American Sport Bike's Shootout Report for the 1125. The Barker exhaust made similar peak numbers but had more power "under the curve" than the other pipes. YMMV.
Boogie - It is indeed quite a bit of coin - throw in the chip and K&N and you are well on the high side of two large. The tax man was good to me this spring, so I pulled the trigger.
For the cost of the chip, pipes and can, chain conversion, fairings, and some of the other cool upgrades from EB, you can just go buy the race 1125R with all that stuff already on it - which is what I should have done.....
hindsight is always 20/20 stirz even if i had the cash i don't think i would im just too tight fisted with it. lol i am glad to see that folks are though helps fund the development so cheers to ya
