From what has been posted on the various forums if you receive a new motor it will be the 2010 version with the upgrades over the 08/09 motors. |

was the first maintenance done at the dealer? Wonder if that comes into play when something like this happens. |

HD wound up with a bunch of 2010 motors when they bought out the Rotax contract. It shouldn't be too difficult to get them to replace with a 2010 mill. |

Erik's shop has a lot of 2010 motors as well...I actually was shocked at how many they had! Was told I could get a deal if I needed one. I said thanks, but I will use up the one I have already first! |

Any idea how much for a new motor? If it's reasonable it could be an option when my 08 track bike motor gets tired (or blowed up) |

Don't think he gave me a number, we were running through there quite quick. I was more concerned and was paying more attention to what I was being told about a more permanent clutch fix. Personally, if I were to get a new motor from them I would find out how much it would be to "warm" it up a bit before installation. |

When my motor blew, I called Erik's shop and got quoted on a shipped 09 motor for around $2,200 shipped to NY give or take. |

Harley states that the Stator Cover bolts backed out and I guess it was loose causing the noise. Not an Engine Failure like first suspected. Does that sound right ? I got a Wierd Feeling that the Left hand does Not know what the Right hand is doing |

The stator nuts torque values are greater than SM declares. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/578856.html?1278604373 Make sure your service department advisor knows these facts, discuss it and then email it to them as well. (Message edited by dannybuell on August 04, 2010) |
