Low side in turn 4 at Blackhawk Farms. Bike went over the outside curbing and caught some air, did a couple cartwheels and landed hard. I was running in second at the time, and feeling good, front just pushed after I tipped it in, I tried to hold it, but couldn't.

unless you did some fork damage, you could fix it up to run pretty quick... turn 4 is a baaaaad one to launch off. matt(carparts009) lost his there too(lowside). leaving his head less then a foot in front of my tire when it started sliding across the ground. i got to see him and the bike both launch off that curb. both were fine. his bike was a few feet off the ground and landed leaned right up against the air fence on its wheels. i damn near ran him over... needless to say i came through that corner waaaay sideways. sounds like you must be ok though?! get some new body work and a fairing stay and run it! or throw the stock body stuff back on it and run it. but then again that class probably requires a belly pan? |

Shame, but damage not too bad, rear subframe, front fairing brace and your off again, doesn't look as bad as mine did, get it fixed and get back out there dude

Why aren't you running fork and swingarm sliders? Just curious. |

The Erik Buell Racing "Used & Take-Offs" department has a lot of components you can use. |

There is some unknowns with the bike right now. Not sure the status of the forks. I know they are twisted, but don't know if they are bent yet. (dosn't really look like it) The wheels, the front has some marks on it, and it took a digger on one of the cartwheels. The swingarm is unknown, as of right now I know the pulley is contacting it lightly. (that can't be good) Frame looks good, the rear subframe looks like it's ok also, just the fiberglass tail that got messed up. I'm doing good, just a big bruise on my hip/butt from sliding over the curbing, and some general soreness. I slid then bounced over it and then tumbled and rolled in the grass, came to a stop, took 3 seconds to gather myself and got up and walked to the tire wall, then headed to the track exit right by there. Guess it was pretty spectacular for the people there watching, everyone clapped and cheered when I got up and I had many people say they were amazed that I wasn't hurt. Must have looked worse than it was. It put two big holes in the arm of my suit, and one in the butt. That's probably the end of that suit, I'm not gonna mess with repairing it anymore. I was also wearing my brand new Knox back protector, glad I had it on even though I didn't impact my back very hard, but I do recall my back hitting the ground in one of my tumbles. Sliders were on the list of things to get, and was in the process when the American Sport Bike buyout happened and they were unavailable for a little while, then it just got put ont he back burner. But with this crash they wouldn't have helped much just because of the curbing/rumble stips stuff. Fairings were/are Catalyst Composits. The best purchase that was on the bike....the Erik Buell Racing/Taylor Made case protectors, I'll have to shoot a pic of it, bareley anything happened to it and I KNOW it took a major hit. Worth every penny! |

Supermoto Engineering make some kick-a$$ axle sliders. Really good price from what I remember as well (less than $100 for the set). Just had my local shop call in the order. They look and fit great! |

I'm not sure which ones they ordered and there's no p/n on the package. I'll call them tomorrow and find out for sure. They fit perfectly and the red almost matches! |

wow those cornerworkers are sure doing a fantastic job of paying close attention aren't they? What could they have been discussing that was so interesting that the bike was able to crash and do like three pirouettes without them even noticing? ugh. Glad you're ok and that the bike didn't smack down on you! |

It's ok, there were more corner workers basically right where the camera man is located, so, I'm not sure if this part of the track was assigned to that station. I do know there was a guy moving my bike off the track by the time I got up and another asking me if I was ok. Agreed about the bike, if that would have landed on me the whole situation could have turned out very different. I purchased the pics today, and when I get them I'm going to put them into a gif. Should be interesting. Here's a screenshot for anyone that hasn't clicked the link...it's quite an amazing series.
