Just seeing how many people from the Southern Ontario (Canada) area might be up for getting a group ride / meet 'n' greet kind of deal going sometime this summer. I'm in Waterloo, looked in the member listing and there are quite a few others from Ontario as well. Let me know if anyone's up for it! |

I'm in Ottawa....and might be able to round up a handful Buell owners (who may not be on here...) for a "meet 'n' greet"/ whatever, maybe somewhere in the middle.... Any others? |

I'm in Orillia - smack dab in the middle and would be up for a meet 'n greet. I'd try to meet. |

I'm in Toronto area. I've heard there are some nice rides/roads in the Prince Edward County area, close to Trenton. Might be a half way for some people?! |

Anybody want to suggest a date? Any time in August is good for me except for the 6-8 weekend. @Pogokcee - I'm in Waterloo - so if we decide to meet up on the east side of Toronto you can crash at my place the night before to save your butt a bit. |

Do any of you do track days? I am thinking a day together at Mosport, Cayuga or Shannonville could be fun! |

On that note, I did a couple of days at Calabogie last month. It's about 1 1/2 hours west of Ottawa on highway 17 close to Arnprior. It's an amazing track. 18 turns in 5 km. I rented a bike, it was a Kawa ZX6R. I'm sure any of those tracks would be good but I haven't personally tried them. Only thing is that this is a tricky track and there are a lot of incidents. So riding there and then prepping the bike and then riding home might be a problem. The right thing to do is trailer the bike so if there is an incident your not left stranded. Just my thoughts on this.... Peter |

I'm in Saskatoon - but I used to live in Ontario.. raced at all three tracks mentioned above and would LOVE to bring my 1125 back for a romp on the track. Too bad about the 3500km distance though. |

Never done the track thing yet - I think I'd rent a bike and take the full lessons.. but, just under $800 for a day is steep! |

I paid $950 plus taxes for the 2 track days which included lessons, bike and equipment rentals and lunch. The school is called Turn 2. There were some extra costs for the optional bike insurance which is $100 plus taxes, so the total was about $1400. The instructors and organizers were very very cool. It was a great experience. I got to know the owner of the school and some of the instructors so if any of you are interested I can forward you his contact info. Peter |

Trackday is only $150 tax in. The schools and renting gear and bikes is pricey but a day on the track is the price of a speeding ticket without demerit points! The novice group is pretty tame and careful. It's the intermediates who think they should be in the expert class that are most likely to cause problems out there. The experts are - well - experts who really know how to do their thing. Don;t be put off - try tracking with a buddy. Back to the original thread, Can someone call a meeting point? I'm in the middle so I can head either east or west. |

I'll be in Calabogie with Pro6cycle for 4 days in august. As always I'll probably be the only Buell there. |

Betzy - that must be an awesome time to spend 4 days on Calabogie! I don't think I could take more than one day at a time. I need my recovery time - that is why I work!! |

Did a day at Calabogie with Turn2 back in June. And yes, I was the only Buell there. Doing another day with Turn2 in August. Betzy - the track is an hour from my house - let me know what days you're there, and I'll pop up for a visit. |

In response to the "how's Ottawa" question: I've been staying quiet on the matter of Ottawa perhaps being the "meeting place". My August weekends have booked up, and didn't want to say "sure!! Let's all meet in Ottawa" and drag all you folks to Ottawa when I perhaps wouldn't even be able to participate or more importantly, help host. Now, September is another matter. My September weekends at this point are wide open. And there are some decent roads around here to explore.... |

Betzy, Likely can't make it up there tomorrow, but I know a few other lads that will be there on next Tuesday too....so that might be the day for a rip up to the track for a visit. New tires going on after that, then I'm shooting for a track day on the 13th....sure it's a Friday....just keep the black cats and ladders out of sight! |
